The Fests The 19th annual Virginia Film Festival 2006 SOLD OUT!

Rebellion of Thought had its Festival Premiere at The Virginia Film Festival. This year’s festival theme was Revelations: The Search for God at the Movies and Rebellion of Thought was well received by a packed house.

4 The Slugline

Rebellion of Thought... a critical look at the role of faith in a post-modern culture.

The Synopsis

ebellion of Thought is a controversial road movie for a post-modern culture. RWhat began as an exploration of popular ideologies quickly became a journey into life and faith and how people live their faith in the world around them.

Filmmakers Brad and Kent C. Williamson (aka The Brothers Williamson) began by inter- viewing philosophers and theologians about the cutural shift known as post-modernism. Along the way they were swept into the film when they realized that at the center of the controversy is an issue that impacts nearly everyone... faith.

What is post-modernism? How has it af- fected our culture? How will it impact our future? What is the role of the church in a post-modern world? Does Man truly need God or is God merely a fairytale idea left- over from a past cultural experiment?

These questions are the launching point for Rebellion of Thought. This “seriously amaz- ing film” by the Brothers Williamson dares to explore critical issues that others fear to touch... and it does so in a personal and rivet- ing manner.

The song “All you love, you lose” was concieved during the winter of 2003. Brian and Ric wanted to experiment with ryhthmic beats, looped guitars, and lush vocals. This new minimalistic project was a step outside of Brian and Ric’s rock and roll roots. However, the collaboration created a unique sound that has raised eyebrows in their corner of the earth. After writing and performing for more than 9 years together, Ric now resides in Colorado. Brian remains in Jacksonville and has a new band called Shangrala which recently revived “All you love, you lose”. The new version will be available on the band’s freshman independent release in the not so distant future. www.myspace.com/shangrala
