Success Story Betty Anzoa is a mother of five children and market vendor in Abila Village, Nimule, Eastern Equatoria State. She spoke to Care for Humanity Organization (CfHO) about receiving her face mask and soap. Saying that life is hard because of COVID-19, “Movement is not possible without a face mask. I’m working as a vendor since the lockdown, getting source of income is so hard and even getting money for buying face mask to the whole family is not possible.”

CfHO, a Rapid Response Fund partner, has been working in the villages surrounding Nimule to raise awareness of the virus, and to find and register persons who are vulnerable to the virus, including those with pre-existing conditions, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. These persons have received NFI packages to protect themselves and their families from the virus.

Betty encountered CfHO distributing both face masks, liquid soap and WASH NFIs. She registered to receive a package, and later noted, “at least our situation CfHO mask and soap recipient © CfHO 2020 / Christopher improved whereby we return to our normal activities of selling vegetable in the DAIMAN markets with others because now I have face mask. I can protect myself from the virus and be able to sell my vegetables without fear.”

Remarking on CfHO’s work throughout the community, “All of their activities are so effective to the communities and we do appreciate their service and [the] donors.”
