    RICHARD BONA & MANDEKAN CUBANO http://www.bonatology.com/ CURRÍCULUM I DISCOGRAFIA Des del seu debut en solitari el 1999, Richard Bona ha defensat la idea que la música és universal: generosa y accessible a tots. Va néixer el 1967 a Minta, un petit poble del Camerun, en una família don la seva mare i el seu avi eren cantants. En Richard va començar tocant el “balafón” quan tenia 4 anys i després ell mateix va aprendre a tocar la guitarra. Més tard, a la capital de Douala, el propietari d’un club de jazz, va tocar amb ell diversos temes del baixista Jaco Pastorius y i va ser aleshores quan Richard va decidir començar a aprendre a tocar el baix. El 1989 es va traslladar a viure a Alemanya i més tard a França, per complementar la seva educació en el baix. Durant aquest període d’aprenentatge, els 7 anys que va passar a París, es va convertir en una figura familiar en molts blubs de la capital francesa, on va compartir escenari amb artistes com Didier Lockwood, Marc Ducret, Manu Dibango i Salif Keita. Per en Richard fou un període molt formatiu on es va reunir amb artistes d’estils molt variats. El 1995 Richard se’n va anar a Nova York. Durant aquells temps, va visitar tots els clubs més famosos de la ciutat del Jazz i va actuar amb músics tan importants com Michael i Randy Brecker, Pat Metheny, Larry Coryell, Mike Stern, Steve Gadd, Joe Zawinul, i fins i tot amb el cantant Harry Belafonte. Richard Bona aviat es va fer amb la reputació de ser un dels millors baixistes dels seus temps, i també com un gran compositor i cantant.
