LOCAL EMPLOYMENT SCHEME 2016

The council for promotion run by Pilar Yagues, continues to work on creating employment in the locality via the Employment and Promotion Agency in the Town Hall of Benijófar. The scheme is divided into two blocks: TRAINING and EMPLOYMENT. The Council for Promotion has managed agreements with various organisations (Convega, Diputación,

Universidad Miguel Hernández, Conselleria, Servef….) for training and hiring people in Benijófar and surrounding villages. Some have already finished and more will be soon starting. Expounded are the two blocks for promotion in our locality:

EMPLOYMENT:

By the end of 2016 the Town Hall will have hired 32 unemployed.

- Grants for youth training: A subsidy of 1000€ was granted from the council in to hire a scholar-ship holder attached to the social service department during the months of August and September. This grant is to help unemployed youth, born after the 1 st of January 1986, with university or superior studies in social work who finished studying during 2013-2015. - Local Corporations: A subsidy of 26.344.78€ was granted by the unemployment office to hire 7 agricultural workers on contract for 55 working days. - Librarian and extra scholar teacher: Up to June and as of October this year a librarian and a support teacher have been hired to work in the municipal library. - Caretaker for the school and Sports Centre: In July, jobs were tended out to cover a caretaker for the school and the sports centre, thus creating two new jobs for a year. - Employment list for Life guards: Two life guards were hired for the summer months from the municipal life guard list and a controller to access the swimming pool for 3 months, also from the municipal list of workers which rotates each year. - Employment list for Maintenance and cleaning: We continue to hire on a rotation system 2 workers every three months for maintenance and cleaning. This list created in 2014 will be renewed in March, the same as last year, to update the candidates and choose 8 new workers who will work over the following 12 months. - Municipal Employment list: The Town Hall also has an employment list to hire workers for home help service (SAD) which continues to rotate hiring 2 people each year. - Emcorp: To hire 3 workers for a period of three months to clean green areas to prevent fires. We will soon be selecting the workers who should be starting towards the end of December. All who are interested in this job must be registered with the unemployment office (Servef) as a construction labourer. - Youth salary: To hire 2 auxiliary administrative, 1 Social Worker and 3 social cultural workers for a period of 6 months, on a 75% work day contract.

TRAINING:

- Employment Workshop Vega Baja Empleo Verde III-Convega Via the syndicate of municipalities of the Vega Baja (Convega) we have asked for an employment workshop for the 8 municipalities which includes Benijófar, Benejúzar, Montesinos, Dolores, Formentera, , Jacarilla and Rafal, to train 20 unemployed students over 25. There will be two specialities: Auxiliary activities in garden centres, gardens, etc and Installation and maintenance of gardens and green areas. The workshop will be for 12 months and the students will be learning a trade from the beginning and will receive a minimum wage. People interested in this scheme must be registered at the unemployment office (Servef) and apply there for this

workshop with the codes that can be obtained from the Employment Agency in the Town Hall. Information will also be given on the hiring of the directives of this workshop, such as a Director, teachers and further personnel. - Food Manipulator course A workshop taught by Convega on the 21 st of June at the Cultural Centre. This was free and 15 people joined. - Personal growth and emotional intelligence workshop This workshop started in 2014, completely free, to learn how to cope with various personal and family problems caused by unemployment and how to find a new job. The basic objectives are: - Your development as a person and help with your daily professional and personal life. - Creating a space where you can learn how to stop and analyse questions which you have to answer if you want to enjoy a full life. - Help you to be aware of your personal and professional situation.
