CANADIAN EARNINGS IN PEDIGREES Before 2003, Canadian dollars were included with U.S. earnings as though there was no difference in the value of the two currencies. Following a recommendation by SITA (Society of International Thoroughbred Auctioneers), from January 1, 2003, purse money earned in Canada will now be separated. This policy is not retroactive for earnings prior to 2003. Pedigree pages will continue to show combined earnings through December 31, 2002. There will be a separate designation for money earned in Canada since January 2003. Those earnings will be reported in Canadian dollars and indicated by (CAN). The following example shows GRAND MISTRESS had combined, non-converted U.S. and Canadian earnings, prior to 2003, of $36,021. Additionally, she earned $22,494 in Canadian dollars since 1/1/03, of which $11,770 (CAN) was earned in her second-place in the South Ocean Stakes, a restricted stakes at Woodbine. Grand Mistress (f. by Storm Charger). 3 wins at 2 and 3, $36,021 in N.A./U.S.; 2 wins at 4, 2003, $22,494 (CAN) in Canada, 2nd South Ocean S.-R (WO, $11,770 (CAN). INSPECTION
