- To all the LINKages members, our student volunteers are ready to connect the gap between the generations. They will be visiting Thursday January 8th and 22nd at 2:45pm.

PALS Pets – will visit on January 8th and 22nd at 6:30pm. We also have another Pet Therapy dog that will come in on January 13th and 27th at 6:00pm. If you would like to request these special visits please speak to Recreation to receive a special Pals Pets poster for your door.

Red Hatters Club – A special dessert outing to Bragg Creek Bakery on Thursday, January 29th at 1:30pm. There are costs associated with these events, which one would pay for through their trust fund account. If you are interested in the Red Hatter’s, please see Recreation.

Grumpy Old Men’s Club - A special In-House Social on Thursday, January 22nd at 2:00pm in the Bridlewood Retreat. There are costs associated with these events, which one would pay for through their trust fund account. If you are interested in The Grumpy Old Men, please see Recreation.

BIG BINGO! Every SATURDAY we host Big Bingo in the Evergreen dining room from 1:30pm - 4:00pm with special goodies to enjoy! Everyone is welcome to attend. There are 8 games played, divided into two sessions. Each card is 25 Cents per session. Please come on out to play!

Peace Lutheran Church – Takes place every Sunday at 2:30pm in the Bridlewood Retreat

St. Patrick’s Catholic Mass –Takes place every 3rd Tuesday at 10:15am in the Bridlewood Retreat

Bible Study - Bible study will be every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 10:30am in the Bridlewood Retreat, unless otherwise noted.

Library Cart - We have a volunteer from the Calgary Public Library who provides library services. If you would like to request a book, or if you need a library pass (free), please speak to Recreation.

The Podiatrist: - Dr. Greg Somer visits every 6 weeks, watch your calendar to see what day he comes by! If you would like to see the podiatrist, please talk to the nurse in your neighborhood.

Volunteers! - We have an extensive group of committed and amazing volunteers. If any resident would like to spend time with a volunteer, please talk to Sandi (403-873-2635), in Recreation about setting up a personal volunteer.

The Nut Man: Les, ‘The Nut Man’ comes to sell candy and nuts every other Tuesday. This month he will be in the lobby or the atrium on Tuesday, January 6th and 20th at 2:00pm.

Tuck Shop: We have a stationary Tuck shop put out in the atrium every Monday and Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm until 3:00pm. There are lots of items for sale, chocolate bars, candy, trinkets, toothbrushes, and much more! Our tuck shop is run by volunteers from the Estate!

Music Therapy: Offers individual or group sessions for residents. Please contact Carol in Recreation at 403-873-2635 for more information.

 For any Private Companion information or referrals please call Renee in Recreation at 403-873-2612.

 CAPCC (Community Access for Persons in Continuing Care) Program is a resources and partner program which provides a free companion for residents under the age of 65 to go into the community to do activities. For more information, please contact Lacy or Carol in Recreation at 403-873-2635.

 Seniors Apparel and Accessories Walker bags, Wheelchair bags, Johnny Shirts, Aprons, Nighties, Purses and much more handmade items! Please contact Kathy at 403-248-0543

Beauty Salon– on site located on the main floor in lobby area 403-873-2616. Prices posted outside salon. Staff will assist in portering you to and from your hair appointment.

 Granddaughters Personal Care Inc. offers accompanied transportation to personal appointments. Please contact Donna at 403-828-0550 or www.granddaughters.ca

PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

 Handi Bus/ Access Calgary: call 403-537-7777 for more information or booking reservations. If you need any assistance in getting a Handi Bus number please speak to your neighborhood nurse.

 Senior’s Express: By Roy. Car travel for up to 3 passengers with escort throughout your appointment. Monday to Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm, call to reserve at 403-255-1634.

 Driving Miss Daisy: 1-877-61-DAISY, or 1-877-613-2479 - [email protected] for an affordable transportation alternative. This Continuing Care Transportation provides complete chair-to-chair accompaniment and assistance for all medical travelers. The medically trained drivers enable those who would otherwise be unable to travel - the ability to do so, in a professional, comfortable and convenient way.

 “It’s No Problem” - Will assist seniors with transportation needs for trips to the doctor, grocery store shopping or just to get out of the house. Flat rate or hourly depending on the length of time required. If grocery shopping is needed, they can help with shopping, getting groceries to the home, and putting groceries away.
