STEWARDS SUMMARY OF JUDICIAL OUTCOMES, Update #4 FINAL: issued Sunday, 3 March 2019 at 1930hrs.

Sunday 2 March 2019

Matters from Race 2:

Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations

During the Race the DRD investigated the following Incidents and determined that none of them warranted referral to the Stewards:

- On Lap 1 at the entry to Turn 4, Car #78, Simona de Silvestro spun across traffic. Hawk Eye footage demonstrated that no other Car was involved;

- On Lap 1 at Turn 9, contact occurred between Car #6, Cam Waters, and Car #9, David Reynolds, as a result of which Car #9 was pushed wide over the exit kerb and lost positions. Hawk Eye footage revealed that the front left wheel on Car #6 had interlocked with the front right wheel of Car #9 and that the contact and subsequent movement of the Cars was not caused by any breach of the Rules by the Driver of Car #6;

- Upon the Safety Car restart on Lap 28, Car #8, , and Car #9, David Reynolds, which was behind Car #8, were observed to have apparently increased speed slightly after the lights on the Safety Car were extinguished contrary to Rule D10.2.12.1. However, before the Safety Car returned to the Pit Lane, all Cars were in procession and travelling at the same speed and hence neither Car #8 or Car #9 gained any advantage which might warrant further investigation;

- On Lap 60, contact was observed between Car #7, , and Car #9, David Reynolds, at Turn 14 as a result of which Car #7 spun. Hawk Eye footage revealed that Car #7 was carrying too much speed and lost control of the rear of the Car causing the collision with Car #9 which had left racing room for Car #7.

- A Pit Lane drive through Penalty on Car #12, Fabian Coutlhard, for a breach of Schedule B2 Article 2.1.1 (Careless Driving) causing contact with Car #3, Garry Jacobsen, at Turn 4 on Lap 53 which resulted in Car #3 colliding with the wall on the exit of Turn 4 and sustaining damage;
