Billy Name : The Silver Factory Years, 1964-1968.

‘Billy’s photos were the only thing that ever came close to capturing the feel of the 1960s Silver Factory.’ - b o y d | s a t e l l i t e is pleased to present work by Andy Warhol’s Factory resident photographer and archivist, Billy Name. Titled ‘Billy Name : The Silver Factory Years 1964-1968’ the exhibition will showcase a selection of Billy's photographs from this period, one of the most important photographic documents of any single artist in history.

45 years ago, December 1970, Billy Name was living in New Orleans on his way to San Francisco after leaving . It is fitting to celebrate this anniversary with Name’s first solo show in New Orleans.

The show will open Saturday, December 5, with a reception from 6-9 coordinated with the other galleries and the Arts Council's Luna Fete event. The ever-evolving tenth annual PhotoNOLA festival (https://photonola.org/about-photonola/) will take place from December 10–13, 2015 with broad ranging photography exhibitions on display throughout the month. The show will close December 31 2015.

The opening event will have a silver theme and feature music from Trax records, Rachel Cain and . The recent publication Billy Name: The Silver Age from Reel Art Press will be available.

A selection from the hundreds of strips of Blake Boyd’s 1996 series of Name documented in a Slidell K-Mart photobooth costumed as a series of Warholian characters compliments the black and white exhibition.
