PARK Updated April 23, 2021 COVID-19 REAUDINESS PLAN 1 GENERAL STATEMENT The Charleston RiverDogs have prepared this document to assist with navigating the new policies and best practices for operating at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park within the environment of the COVID-19 epidemic for ticketed events. The contents herein are intended to preserve the safety of staff, players, fans and other patrons as the case may be, and they supersede any prior instruction by the Team. The RiverDogs will continue to follow the guidance of national, state and local governments and agencies, as well as the directives of Major League Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rays, to develop and update these policies. The input of local, regional medical and health partners will also play a significant role in the continued development of the below policies and best practices. As necessary and appropriate, these guidelines, policies and best practices may be changed and/or modified. BALLPARK OPERATIONS A. Staff/Guest Sanitation Amenities: The RiverDogs have added hand-sanitizing stations throughout Riley Park, including at gates, concession stands, and restroom entrances. B. Face Coverings: All patrons older than 2 years old will be required to wear a mask covering both mouth and nose at all times, except when actively eating or drinking in the patron’s seat. C. Cashless Purchasing: The RiverDogs will install cashless options at all major points of sale in or about the Ballpark. This will be achieved through the investment in touchless units that will connect to and will provide fans the ability to tap or insert their credit card without interpersonal bodily interaction.

    LINE DRIVES THE NATIONAL COLLEGIATE BASEBALL WRITERS NEWSLETTER (Volume 46, No. 2, Apr. 24, 2007) The President’s Message By NCBWA President Michael “Mex” Carey Membership: It’s hard to believe that the baseball season is nearing conference tournament time. The season has been a great one so far and things are sure to get more exciting as we get closer to conference tournaments, the NCAA Regionals and the College World Series. A young Georgetown team in the Nation’s Capitol has struggled with some injuries, but the battle for supremacy in the BIG EAST, like many other conferences across the country, are still up for debate. At the same time, our heartfelt condolences go out to everyone at Virginia Tech after the senseless tragedy that unfolded on the Blacksburg campus recently. I was not the only one, I’m sure, who was horrified by the images and though immediately of our friends who work on the campus. Pete Hughes, one of the great coaches in college baseball who I got to know when he was at Boston College and I worked at St. John’s, said it right after the Hokies’ 11-9 loss to Miami in the team’s first game after the tragedy. “We won before we got to the field today. The scoreboard was insignificant.” The board members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association are in the process of selecting names for yearly awards. Last week, the final list for the Stopper of the Year Award will be announced and right behind that, we will have announcements for All-American nominees.

    The Boston Red Sox Sunday, May 30, 2021 * The Boston Globe Nate Eovaldi, bullpen stellar as Red Sox take second straight win over Marlins Peter Abraham Adam Ottavino punched his fist into his glove and let out a yell as he marched off the mound in the seventh inning Saturday. The righthander even flexed on his way to the dugout, the veins popping in his neck as the fans at Fenway Park roared. Ottavino uncharacteristically went the full Hulk Hogan for a few seconds after striking out Miami Marlins cleanup hitter Garrett Cooper to leave the bases loaded. “Kind of an out-of-body experience there. Glad I was able to make the pitch and just kind of blacked out,” Ottavino said after the Red Sox finished off a 3-1 victory. Credit an assist to the crowd of 25,089, the largest at Fenway Park since the final game of the 2019 season. “That was awesome. The crowd brought it today. That’s what’s been missing at those two-strike moments at home,” Ottavino said. “Feels like that puts a lot of pressure on the hitter.” On the day Massachusetts rescinded its pandemic protocols, the ballpark was abuzz despite the cold, wet, and windy weather. “A lot of energy out there, a lot of excitement. I know the guys were really feeding off that,” said bench coach Will Venable, who managed the team with Alex Cora attending his daughter’s high school graduation. “A couple of guys came into the dugout and we’re talking about how electric it was.” They have a team worth supporting.
