Bobbitt It is my pleasure to transmit to you the Consolidated Financial Report of the University of Arkansas System for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2014, with comparative data as restated for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2013. The data presented, including the Management Discussion and Analysis, Statement of Net Position, Statement of Revenues, Expenses, and Changes in Net Position, and Statement of Cash Flows, are exhibited on a consolidated basis and include all components of the UA System: UAF (University of Arkansas Fayetteville, including Agricultural Experiment Station, Cooperative Extension Service, Arkansas Archeological Survey, Criminal Justice Institute, and Clinton School of Public Service), UAFS (University of Arkansas at Fort Smith), UALR (University of Arkansas at Little Rock), UAMS (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences), UAM (University of Arkansas at Monticello), UAPB (University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff), CCCUA (Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas), PCCUA (Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas), UACCB (University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville), UACCH (University of Arkansas Community College at Hope), UACCM (University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton), ASMSA (Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts), and SYSTEM (University of Arkansas System Administration, including University of Arkansas System eVersity). These statements were prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles as prescribed by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The financial statements used to prepare the consolidated report, except for the Medical Sciences campus and the discretely presented component units, were audited by the Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit. The financial statements from the Medical Sciences campus were audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. All received unqualified audit opinions. Barbara A.     Addendum-2 Brief History of Arkansas Academy of Science Dr. Collis Geren AAS Historian-As reported to the AAS business meeting for April 1st, 2016 From the Arkansas Academy’s Home Page: History The Arkansas Academy of Science began meeting in 1917 as a group of scientists wishing to establish regular avenues of communication with one another and promote science and the dissemination of scientific information in the state. Over the years since, the Academy has been led by scientists of notable accomplishment, such as Dwight Moore, Ruth Armstrong, C. E. Hoffman, Jewel Moore, Joe Nix, Ed Dale, to name a few. The Academy is a non-partisan, non-political, professional organization consisting of scientists who pay dues to join with other scientists to promote science in the state and region. The specific areas of science included (but not limited to) are Biomedical, Botany, Plant Science, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Invertebrate Zoology, and Vertebrate Zoology. An Executive Committee, consisting of a President, Past-President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Journal Editors and Newsletter Editor convenes twice annually to discuss issues and determine some policy and procedures for maintaining and operating the Academy. The chairpersons of standing committees and the President of the Arkansas Science Teachers Association are invited to meet with the Executive Committee. The Academy holds an annual meeting the second weekend in April during which business is transacted and reports/papers on research and teaching methods are given. The meeting provides many opportunities for colleagues to visit and share information about their respective work.

In terms of Table 7, in 2000, St. Francis County had 14 full-Time artists, designers, and performers a rate of 5.9 full time artists per 1,000 employed. St. Francis County’s assets include the St. Francis County Museum, which offers visitors the oppor- tunity to learn about the history of the county as well as East Arkansas Community College, the sponsor of the annual Ridgefest Fall Festival, which offers a wide range of entertainment to visitors to the Forest City campus. EACC offers students a wide range of arts electives and is in the process of constructing a Center for the Fine and Performing Arts.
