Bellingham, truly Northwest, is the last major city in the contiguous U.S. where the coastline meets the Canadian border. In the shadows of Mt. Baker, Bellingham is known for its bookstores, award-winning beer scene and a great variety of outdoor recreation. Seattle, surrounded by water, mountains and evergreen forests, is home to tech giants such as Amazon and Microsoft and filled with iconic Northwest sights and experiences.

Day 1—Vancouver, B.C. to North Cascades/Mt. Baker and Bellingham

Following disembarkation of your cruise ship in Vancouver, meet your InquisiTours guide to depart for the mountains! Driving distance from Vancouver to U.S. boarder: 65 miles/52KM / 1 hour. Driving distance boarder to Mt. Baker: 65 miles/104KM / 1.5 hours.

1 After crossing the border, we head to the mountains! The North Cascades offer some of North America's most remote and rugged landscapes.

We follow the Nooksack River through steep valleys towards Mt. Baker*. With names like Picture Lake, Artist Point and Fire and Ice Trail, spend a full day enjoying the vistas and accessible trails.

Stop at the Glacier Public Service Center on the Mt. Baker Scenic Byway and meet with the park ranger for park information. Enjoy a picnic lunch at Picture Lake, one of the most famous photographed vistas in the North Cascades.

Day 2—Bellingham to Seattle

Departing Bellingham, we will drive the scenic byway Chuckanut Drive where the Cascade Mountains meet the sea. A stop at Taylor Shellfish Farms will introduce a real Northwest delicacy - oysters fresh from Samish Bay.
