Founder of Tara Trust, Katharina Kakar studied Comparative Religion, Anthropology and Indian Art History at the Free University, Berlin, from where she obtained her doctorate in 2001. Since returning to art in 2012, she has exhibited in several solo shows such as 'Women, Bodies, Goddesses' at Sunaparanta, Goa, 2013 and in 'Unsung in Life, Unclaimed in Death' alongside Subodh Kerkar, Sarai Reader 09, Raqs Media Collective, Devi Art Foundation, Gurgaon, 2012. Aadhi Vishal, is a Goan by birth. In 2009, he was facilitated at the 8th Veteran Artists Exhibition from University of Bombay in 1988 and MFA from Maharaja Sayajirao University Baroda in 1990. organized by All India Arts and Crafts Society in New Delhi. SANDEEP MURGAONKAR’s journey with art & artists started from 2007 when he started working for Ruchikas Art Gallery as an art gallery manager. During that time he managed the exhibitions programs which included curated and invitational exhibitions, featuring the work of Goan, National and International artists. Working at the Gallery he has also organized many art workshops and coordinated artist residency camps. The Tara Trust weekly programs for children cost Rs.8000 per child per annum. This includes all the material cost needed for the workshops, along with facilitator fee and travel costs to the workshops. We currently work with 347 children per week. Pledge the cost of a child to take care of his/her creative learning and growth. The Tara Trust Women’s Skill Development and Income Generation Program is currently running on minimal funding. Cost per woman per annum is Rs.12,000, which is given as a stipend to her to encourage her to come to the workshops regularly and motivate the family from allowing her to be a part of the class. We have 21 women in the workshop currently. Pledge to take care of one woman’s stipend helping her to keep learning and earning.
