NCI Mail Settings Change

There is a small change needed on the nci.org.uk email settings soon.

The change will need to take place AFTER the migration to our new server.

After the migration the email program will show an error when checking your email, this is when you need to make the change.

What needs to change?

At the moment you have a unique username for each email account, these take the form of nci_username (nci_penzance as an example)

This will change to your email address ([email protected])

No other settings need to change, just the username. nci_name - - - - > [email protected]

Outlook 2003 - Outlook 2007 - Outlook 2010

From the Tools menu select E-mail Accounts (Outlook 2003) or Account Settings (Outlook 2007) For Outlook 2010 select File then Account Settings button

Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next

Select your email account, you may have more than one here, then click on Change This displays the Settings window below Change your User Name and replace with your email address.

Click Next and Finish

Outlook Express

From the Tools menu select Accounts

Select the Mail tab

Select your NCI email account and click on Properties

Click on the Servers tab Change your User Name and replace with your email address

Click OK to finish

Windows Mail

From the Tools menu select Accounts

Select your NCI email account and click on Properties

This opens the Account details window below Change your User Name and replace with your email address

Mozilla Thunderbird (Windows and Mac)

From the Tools menu select Accounts Settings…

Select Server settings under your Email Account

Change your User Name and replace with your email address

Click OK to finish

Click on the Mail menu and select Preferences… Select your account from the left On the right change your User Name and replace with your email address

Locate the Settings icon

Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Select your NCI account Change your User Name and replace with your email address You should also select under Outgoing Mail Server SMTP and make the same change on the User Name there
