INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
WHO CAN APPLY? Residents in Rutland AND eligible for a state pension.
HOW TO APPLY? When applying for the first time, or if you have moved here from another county, you will need to provide proof of age AND residency.
The following documents will be accepted as proof of age and residency – photocopies are acceptable:
Birth Certificate, Passport, Driving Licence, Medical Card, Pension Book/Letter, Rent Book, Council Tax Demand, Utility Bill.
A passport sized photograph is also required.
There is no charge for the initial pass, however, should you require a replacement due to loss or theft, there is a charge of £5.00.
Please return your completed application form, photograph and proof(s) of age and residency to:

Or bring it in to the Customer Services Desk at the council offices.
YOUR NATIONAL FREE TRAVEL PASS
Eligible applicants are entitled to a National Free Bus Pass which will be valid for 4 years. Your travel pass will have an expiry date on it, and you will receive a reminder a month before it expires so you can request a new pass. If you move house within the county during the 4 years, then please let us know your new address so we can update our records. If you move out of the area then you will need to make a new application to the appropriate council.
A free travel pass can be used on all local bus services in England between 9.30 am and
11.00 pm Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and on Bank Holidays.
