It’s a very exciting time for frame building at the moment. The depth of talent and level of enthusiasm is quite astonishing. The craftsmanship on display here is amongst the best in the world. For these people to carry on making these beautiful bikes they need to sell them, so if you like what you see ask how much? This show provides you with the chance to meet many different designers and makers, using different methods of production which enable prices to be more affordable. Making a beautiful bicycle takes time. Time to learn the skills and longer to perfect them. You can build your own bicycle under expert tuition and afterwards, proud of your work look at the masters’ then truly appreciate the skill involved. But there’s a BRISTOL big difference. Each student at The Bicycle Academy will make a bike designed especially to bespoked use in Africa. Students keep the skills they learn and their first bike will go to someone who really needs it.
