Interpretation of Holy _ Surat -Al-Shams - lesson (2)

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of Creations, and Peace and blessings be upon our prophet , the faithful and the honest. Oh, Allah, w e know nothing but w hat You teach us. You are the All- Know er, the Wise. Oh Allah, teach us w hat is good for us, and benefit us from w hat You taught us, and increase our know ledge. Show us the righteous things as righteous and help us to do them, and show us the bad things as bad and help us to keep aw ay from them. O Allah our Lord, lead us out from the depths of darkness and illusion, unto the lights of erudition and know ledge, and from the muddy shallow s of lusts unto the heavens of Your Vicinity.

We have reached the last lesson of Al-Shams:

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him; 9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ownself)

[Ash-Shams,Verses:7-10]

Our Lord mentioned the Nafs( the soul ) before the sun and its brightness, and He mentioned the moon as it follow s it, and mentioned the night as it conceals it, and the heaven and Who built it, and the earth, and He, after all these verses, mentioned the soul w hich, maybe, is the greatest among these signs, it w as mentioned in the tradition: " it is neither My Earth, nor My Heaven hold(have a room for) Me, but the heart of My believing slave does". And the human soul, perhaps, is meant by the subjection of the heavens and earth:

((13- And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favor and kindness from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people w ho think deeply

[Al-Jathiyah, Verse:13]

((And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth).

And the Earth and the heavens and everything therein are subjected to the human soul, our Lord the Exalted and Glorious said:

By the soul and the proportion and order given to it:

((7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion)

How did our Lord proportion this soul? We are now concerned about our bodies, the w hole w estern civilization is concerned about the body, and all of you know w hat is the end of this body.. All these huge efforts made for taking care of this body w ill be ended w ith death, on w hich man w ill "meet" his soul w hich he corrupted and sullied, it w ill torture him forever. Some people have summed up the civilization based on the religion as a civilization controls the soul of the disciplined believer, and some have interpreted the material civilization as a control over the material, but the essence of religions, especially , is to control the self or the soul…

((7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him;  9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ownself) [Ash-Shams, Verses:7-10]

All the dazzling machines and modern inventions aim to entertain this body, and the fate of this body is the soil (earth), our Lord directed us to the soul in this verse. Man looks after his body; w ears beautiful clothes, cares for his house, furniture..etc, but w here is his interest in his soul? Our master Omer used to say [ look after your heart]. But people now look after their material affairs, and blush at untidy house, old furniture, an old-painted house, or a bad doorw ay, but they neglect their ow n souls, and at the death, the defects of the souls appear and it w ill torture its body forever..

((7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

He created the soul in a w ay that it loves perfection. To love the perfection is one thing, and to be perfect is another thing. To love justice is one thing and to be just is another thing; to love fairness is a nature, but to be fair is Sibghah (religion). This is an accurate difference betw een the nature and the Sibghah, to love sublimity is a nature, and this high nature is w hat tortures man, w hy does man feel compunction? Why does he feel uncomfortable w hen he goes astray or transgresses the others? What is the cause of this discomfort? The sound nature on w hich man w as created cares for perfection, and w hen it gains it, it feels comfortable, otherw ise it is tortured, this is a law applied on every soul created by Allah.

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

What is this proportion? Man is created to love w hoever does favor to him. What w ould he do in the Hereafter if he w ronged someone, and he know s that Allah the Great and Almighty treated him kindly? He w ould certainly be tortured by his shame, the genuine nature of man is that the soul is created to love everyone treats it graciously, the second nature is that the soul loves perfection; it is tortured if it fails to reach it, and it feels comfortable if it achieves it. "The people are sleep" People are doped on their lusts and desires, and w hen the hour of death comes, all of these w ill disappear, and he w ill see his reality, w here it w ill torture him.

( 7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

Allah the Exalted and Glorious created man w ith his ego, soul and body. The ego is the essence of man, w ho is he? His ego is w hat he loves, hates, fumes, pleases, fails and feels, and it is eternal. Our Lord said:

(185-Everyone shall taste death))

[Al-Imran, From verse: 185]

There is a big difference betw een" everyone dies" and" Everyone shall taste death", it (the ego) tastes the death, but it never dies:

( 77- And they w ill cry:" O Malik (Keeper of Hell) !Let your Lord make an and of us." He w ill say:"Verily, you shall abide forever))

[Az-Zukhruf, Verse:77]

Man has his ow n ego, w hich feels happiness and torture, the ego is full of eyes, ears and feelings, but Allah made it inside the body, it can see by tw o accesses, the eyes, it can hear through the ears, it can move by the legs, and it can beat by the hand, it feels and thinks; the body is a "container" for the ego(self) through w hich it moves, sees, hears, feels..etc, but this body moves by the soul, so the movement is an expression of the man's ego, and by the Strength of Allah, the eye can see through the soul, the reality of death is the separation of the ego(self) from the body and from the soul. The soul is the moving strength of Allah, if you cut off the electricity from a machine, it w ill stop immediately, and this machine still a machine, w hat makes it stop w orking? the cutting off the pow er, right?, so w hen one dies, his soul cuts off at once, and the ego (self) ascends to its Creator; if he is a believer, or else it stays a pledge for w hat he earned; if he is a dissolute, the soul is a pow er from Allah and it is cut off from the ego at the death. What is critical or dangerous is that the ego is your ow n ego not your body, and people now w orry about their bodies, they fear the increase of their hearts' beats, or the heart attacks, and they forget that the diseases of the soul (ego) are more dangerous than those of the body, because death ends these diseases w hile the soul or ego diseases, I mean their results, start after death, and there is eternity after death. So w hat is more important; to be interested in this mortal body, or in the eternal ego?..

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

Allah created it w ith the sound nature as a w hite paper, either you w rite beautiful w ords that make you proud of, or dirty w ords that make you ashamed of, hence Allah said:

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

Being created fond of perfection, this fondness tortures it w hen it deviates from perfection… and it is created to love w hoever treats it kindly, the body w as created to serve it, it(the ego) moves by this body, and it is created to be eternal, tastes the death but it never dies. And the soul is the pow er that moves it, and it is created w ith its desires and lusts.

(14-Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; w omen, children, much of gold and silver(w ealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and w ell-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world's life; but Allah has the excellent return(Paradise) w ith Him))

[Al-Imran, Verse:14]

Why is it created w ith its desires and lusts? The ego cannot elevate w ithout these desires, how can that happen? It gives w hat it is precious to it; w hen it gives money, w hat is the value of giving alms if Allah didn't create its fondness for money? What is the importance of avoiding the ill-gains? The amount of money, might seem tempting and yet, you say: I fear Allah the Lord of all w orlds.. If it doesn't love the other sex,w hat is the value of low ering the gaze? And w hat is the value of the attitude of our master the prophet (Joseph) w hen he said;

(23-…, He said:" I seek refuge in Allah(or Allah forbid) !Truly, he (your husband) is my master ! He made my living in a great comfort! (So I w ill never betray him).Verily, the Zalimun (w rong or evil doers) w ill never be successful))

[Yusuf, From verse: 23]

Notice, my brothers, that w e cannot get close to Allah w ithout these desires that Allah created inside us. Our w ay to Allah is neutral desires; they can be a motivator tow ards Allah the Great and Almighty, or tow ards the Hell.. and the desire is still as itself..a desire. Women, can be your w ay to Allah, how is that? By low ering your gaze, you feel that you resist yourself and restrain it from impure desires and lusts. This is a w ay, and if you take the w ay that Allah legalized (the marriage), it is also another w ay. The love for money is also a motivator, it motivates you to Allah by giving it or by avoiding gaining it illegally. So, except for these desires inside us, no paradise and hell w ould have been existed. The sound nature (character)of you makes you love good, mercy, equity, patience..etc, and makes you love everybody does a favor to you, besides you have your ow n w eaknesses:

(19- Verily, man w as created very impatient)) [Al-Ma'arij, Verse:19]

(28-…,and man w as created weak))

[An-Nisa',From verse:28]

(37- Man is created of haste. I w ill show you My Ayat (torments, proofs, signs, verses, etc). So ask Me not to hasten (them))

[Al-Anbiya',Verse:37]

These points w ere created for man’s belief and happiness, even though they are w eakness, and they help him to know Allah, to trust in Allah and to resort to Allah.

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

He created it w ith a high level nature, loves everyone makes favor to it, and He gave it its law s and desires…w hich are motives to Paradise, and by w hich it elevates its rank near Allah or falls dow n into Hell.

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

But the civilization today concerns only in the body, a comfortable house, luxurious car, tasty food, fashionable clothes..etc. These things attract people of w eak minds that w hen death comes all these gains finish. It is the same for man to die as a millionaire or as a poor man –stricken, therefore:

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

Who did proportion this Nafs? Made it fear and fume.. by this nature, it can stand(bear) or not, advances or not, be honest or a liar, sincere or betrayer, forgives or punishes, these desires are neutral but they are a yardstick of it, and by them the soul(or ego) show s its essence.

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

The human being has tendency to be a believer or a disbeliever, to be merciful or a cruel, to be generous or miser, to be kind or abrupt, to be noble or ignoble, strong or w eak.. all of these qualities are w ithin the reach of his hand by these desires that Allah created in him:

(3-Verily, We show ed him the w ay, w hether he be grateful or ungrateful))

[Al-Insan,Verse:3]

(29- And say;"The truth is from your Lord." Then w hosoever w ills, let him believe; and whosoever w ills, let him disbelieve))

[Al-Kahf, verse: 29]

And there is another meaning of:

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

In addition to the sound nature, and to love everyone does favor to it, and the desires and lusts planted in it, Allah has given it free w ill, it is not forced:

(148-For every nation there is a direction to w hich they face(in their prayers). So hasten tow ards all that is good))

[Al-Baqarah, verse: 148] (256-There is no compulsion in religion))

[Al-Baqarah, verse: 256]

(29- And say;"The truth is from your Lord." Then w hosoever w ills, let him believe; and whosoever w ills, let him disbelieve))

[Al-Kahf, verse: 29]

And our Lord the Exalted and Glorious w anted to treat the man according to his attitude and deeds:

(38-Every person is a pledge for what he has earned))

[Al-Muddaththir,Verse:38]

He allow ed him to choose and He made him responsible for his choice, "Was our march to Ash-Sham- (the ancient name of the four countries: Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine) by a fate and divine decree (predestination)?,someone asked our master Ali, may Allah honor him, he answ ered: " O you, if it w as by an obligatory inevitable fate, the promise (Paradise) and the threat (Hell) then w ould be untrue, and the rew ard and punishment w ould be nonexistent, and the Quran w ould be sent dow n in play..( but) Allah ordered His slaves for the free w ill(to do w hat He orders w illingly), and He forbade them for w arning, and He charged (them) w ith easiness, not w ith difficulty, and He gave much for the little (w ork, deed), and Allah w asn’t disobeyed against his w ill and he w asn’t obeyed by force (but he gave the free choice to all human beings)." He allow ed you to have your ow n (free) choice and made you responsible for this choice, planted desires in yourself, and this is for your favor, not to be a fault, it is for your eternal happiness… w ould you be noble by them (desires) or base? He gave you a soul that loves the good, the mercy, the equity, and anyone maybe unlike this; this w ould be another issue, w hen thieves divide w hat they have stolen, they do this fairly because this is the nature (of the man) not because they love the equity, the human has his ow n nature w herever he existed, and if he w rongs those w ho treated him kindly, he suffers the severe pains w ithout anybody tortures him, hence:

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion))

Allah created you free and responsible and according to your attitude tow ards Him, He treats you:

(11- For him (each person),there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by Command of Allah. verily !Allah w ill not change the (good)condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah))

[Ar-Ra'd, From verse: 11]

From bad to good:

(as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves))

and from good to bad:

(as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves))

It is the law s, and you w ere created w ith sound nature, you love the w ell-doer and you hate the evil-doer, and you have neuter desires w hich it is impossible that you can bring yourself nearer to Allah w ithout them? He resisted himself and his desire to look at a beautiful w oman and he brought himself nearer to Allah, he preferred a good w ife to a beautiful ill-bred w oman. “ Bew are of Khadr'a Ad-Demam, they asked: What is Khadr'a Ad-Demam? He said: The ill-bred beautiful woman”.

So by w hat you prefer to elevate yourself? A big sum of money w as offered to you, and you said: I fear Allah the Lord of all w orlds, this is suspected, you w ill never elevate yourself but after you abandon the forbidden things, and after you obey Allah, and oppose your lusts and desires (unlaw ful, of course) and after you follow w hat Allah has legalized to you. And one sometimes queries naively "Why did Allah plant these desires and lusts in ourselves? The situation w ould be better, if He hadn't done that", No…this is a simple(or silly) opinion, w ithout these desires, the Paradise w ouldn't have been existed, by them you can elevate yourself; by low ering gaze, giving money, by help your brother, you w ill not elevate yourself except by the good deeds, and the good deeds need money, time and effort. He created you w ith sound nature, you love the good, and created your desires w ith you for your happiness, and He created you free in your choice and responsible about your deeds:

(92-So, by your Lord (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]),We shall certainly call all of them to account; 93- For all that they used to do))

[Al-Hijr,Verses:92-93]

And He made the relation betw een Him and you very obvious:

(Allah w ill not change the (good)condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves))

(56-And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him w ith fear and hope. Surely, Allah' s Mercy is (ever) near unto the good –doers))

[Al-A'raf,Verse:56]

(97-Whoever works righteousness__ whether male or female__ w hile he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism)verily, to him We w ill give a good life (in this w orld), and We shall pay hem certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what he used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter))) [Al-Isra',Verse:97]

(124-"But w hosoever turns aw ay from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its teachings.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection))

[Taha,Verse:124]

He made the relation w ith you very clear, and above all, He created your ow n nature(self) by w hich you can distinguish betw een the evil and good, He gave you this ability, this is a pow er:

[ The allow ed (thing) is clear and the forbidden (thing ) is clear and there are suspected things between them].

[ Ask yourself (heart) even if the Muftis gave you the legal opinions].

By his ow n sound nature, everyone can recognize w hether this deed is correct or incorrect, it is the sixth sense and this is w hy all the errant people are psychologically tortured because their natures hold them responsible for their deeds in the first place. He granted you the thought; the cognitive guiding pow er w hich has the authority (pow er)of the logic:[ I have w ondered w hy you are late, O Khalid, I know that you are intelligent]. And above all, He created to you a universe, w hich is an embodiment for His Good Names(Attributes), and through w hich you can see His Mercy, His Know ledge, His Pow er, His Wisdom, His Kindness, His Ingenuity (Creativity) and His Equity …is anything else missed? He sent to you prophets w ith holy books, w hat else?

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him))

Guiding man to what is wrong and right for him:

And after all of these blessings, if you go astray, He show s you that you have gone astray:

(8-Then He showed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him))

If you do good, He apprises you of this, He opens your breast( w ith guidance) and if you act righteously, you feel then w ith indescribable comfort, as if a mountain removed from upon your chest.. and you feel uncomfortable w hen you do mistake, deviation, or have an evil intention:

(25-…,and the earth, vast as it is, w as straitened for you))

[At-Toubah, From verse:25]

We have mentioned everything:

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him)) This Nafs that He proportioned is, maybe, bigger than all these signs.

(1-By the sun and its brightness; 2-By the moon as it follow s it (the sun) ; 3-By the day as it show s up (the sun's ) brightness; 4-By the night as it conceals it( the sun ); 5-By the heaven and Him Who built it; 6-By the earth and Him Who built it; 7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him))

There are many things about this proportion… let the body, the accuracy of the eye, of the ear, of the thought, the hearing, the nervous system..etc, and this miraculous body, w hich is the most complicated "machine' in the universe, be aside. Let us deal w ith the soul, the unknow n. There is a book titled: "The man, the unknow n" speaks entirely about the biggest mistake of our age that they aimed at the body on account of the soul…a material luxury and psychological misery. I asked him: can you summarize the diseases that affect the heart in few w ords? He said: Yes, sensual pleasure and spiritual tension, but our forefathers had bodily fatigue and spiritual comfort.. All these tools presented the comfort and relax to our senses, but on the other side, they caused enmity, envy, grudge, and the frantic(or hectic) striving for the w orldly life, w hich exhausted the heart. The biggest mistake that Europe has committed is the luxury of the body on the account of the soul. The life of the Companions of the Prophet [p.b.u.h] w as hard, and their food w as simple; a handful of flour, a cup of milk, and unconditioned camel, and yet they w ere happy. Everyone of them w as like the radiant star and if one could sit w ith them, he w ould be cheerful, How ever, in the present, you see the luxury in its top but the people are in the bottom of the misery.

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him)) With the existence of the prophets, holy books, the miraculous universe; w hich is an embodiment of the Names of Allah, and this great thought, this distinguished power, the sound nature of the man, and the love of the good, and benefactors, and the desires that Allah planted in us, w hen the man deviates from the right path: (8-Then He showed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him))

If a student obtains the final degree in the high school, he says: I became a doctor—and he hasn't yet entered the faculty of medicine – the use of the past tense of the verb instead of the present or future means the actualization. And if one purifies himself, even though his life is simple and hard, his job is little, his social status is insignificant, w e say: he succeeded, succeeded in w hat? This statement is unlimited (an absolute), no need to say w hat he succeeded in.

Truly the one who purifies himself has succeeded:

This man succeeded in his life, and achieved the aim that he w as created to, this man is the first w inner in this life:

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

And if one is just about to have an unavoidable accident in the road, he says: w e are gone, he uses the past tense of the verb, not the present, to describe the actualization of the accident. And also w ho straightens himself up and obeys his Lord, w e say: he succeeded, in w hat? All the aspects of success are limited, that is to say, he succeeded in his job, but he didn't in his house, or he succeeded in his marriage (his family) but he is miserable in his career, or he succeeded in his school, but he is badly patient, so, all the verbs that w e use to describe the success are limited.. but w hen w e say that someone has succeeded in everything, w e mean then he has achieved the human perfection, and w hen Allah the Exalted and Glorious omitted the object from the verse, He meant the absolute success. Now let's listen carefully to Allah, w ho does succeed? He said: Who purifies it, and to w hom (it) refers? To the Nafs (the soul ).

(7-By Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul) and Him Who perfected him in proportion; 8-Then He show ed him w hat is w rong for him and w hat is right for him.} {9- Indeed he succeeds w ho purifies his ownself))

In fact, if you think that money is everything, how severe is your aberration, and if you think that the desires and lusts are everything, how far is your aberration.

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

But, how can one purify it? w hy? And w hen? In this life, w hy? Because this human soul w as created to be happy w ith Allah the Great and Almighty:

"I have created the heavens and earth for you, so do not toil yourself, and I have created you for Me, so do not play" (do not spend your life in insignificant things and in delusions).

You are created to be happy w ith Allah, this is the biggest aim of your creation, you w ere created to know Allah, w hat does this mean? to be happy w ith His Nearness forever, in Paradise, w here no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and w hat has never come to a human 's heart (mind), you cannot achieve this rank and but after you are w orth of it. And this qualification is in the w orldly life, and the rew ard is in the Hereafter, w hat is the sort of this qualification? It is to purify yourself, your soul, in order to be w orth to be under the sponsorship of Allah and forever, our Lord, after He mentioned the soul and Who proportioned it and show ed it w hat it is w rong and w hat is right for it (him), He said: (9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

And he completely succeeded w ho aimed at himself to purify it, but w hat does" to purify it" mean?. It has three meanings: the first, to purify it from grudge, envy, pride, selfishness, arrogance (or loftiness), meanness, stinginess, hypocrisy, and prejudice….

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

There are innumerable diseases that affect the heart (the soul), and they are the symptoms of the turning aw ay (from Allah), you turn aw ay, and the symptoms appear on it, you sometimes hear: so-and so is a w icked! Strange, no it isn't, w hat is strange is to be a noble or gentleman w hile he is far or distant from Allah, because w hen he is far from Allah (disobedient to Him), he w ill certainly be a w icked, rough, stingy, selfish and there are clever individuals. We say: this cleverness is of self-interest, but if he w as in a critical attitude or you tighten the grip around him, you w ill see his reality. So, if the man has no communication w ith Allah, he w ill certainly complain from most of these diseases _"the symptoms of the turning aw ay":

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

If you live in the most luxurious house and you are w icked, this is the misery, because death separates betw een you and your house, but the bad results of your w ickedness start their painful act after death and forever. He is a very rich man and a law suit of maintenance w as filed against him, w hen he dies, his w icked attitude w ill stay alive forever, tortures him, to purify himself from the diseases that w ill torture him forever, this is the first meaning. And "purifies it" means to elevate it because the includes abandonment and characterization (i.e. to avoid the bad manners and to adopt the good ones), and purification and scenting, that is to say, it is not enough to be just and upright, but you must be merciful, gracious, friendly, kind, patient, this is the "tincture", and this is like a piece of metal that w as in the refrigerator, put it out in the sun, it loses its coldness and gains heat. So, w hen the man moves tow ard to Allah, he gets rid of his dirt and psychic diseases and gains the divine perfection. The third meaning is: the grow th and increasing, you must not stay in the same rank, you should elevate your position.

“He w ho has no increase is in loss”

What does the w ord “purify” mean? When? It is in the w orldly life, and it is the price of Paradise, the eternal happiness, it is the price of

“ I have prepared to My righteous slaves w hat no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and w hat has never come to the mind of a human”.

When? In this life, do you know it? This is its w ay, the prayer:

“ The prayer is a light, and it is a purification”

By prayer, you can get rid of all your diseases, and acquire the perfection and progress in its ascending, therefore, the Prophet said:

“ The prayer is the ascending of the believer”],

“ The prayer is a balance and he w ho pays in full, w ill be repaid in full too”

“ There is no good in a religion w ithout prayer”.

“The prayer is the basis of the religion; those who perform it, establishes the religion, and those w ho leave it, leave the religion”,

“Leaving out prayer is w hat makes man an ”..

The prayer is the basis of the religion:

(31-"And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat(prayer), and Zakat (obligatory tax money), as long as I live))

[,Verse:31]

It is a communication w ith the Creator (Allah) and kindness in the creature, this is the brief definition of the religion, so:

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

He achieved the full success, not just in the Hereafter but also in this life, w ho is this one? He is the one w ho purified himself from the soul's diseases,"graced" it w ith the divine perfections, and continues grow ing it day after day, w hat is the reality of man? He is just a few days, w henever a day passes, a part of him passes also.

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

You should apply to this Great Book (Qur'an), if you do not, you are in big loss:

(9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself))

He bought a piece of land (lot) and he doubled its price eighty times! His daily income is nearly thirty thousand pounds, and he performs five operations every day, he gets eight thousand from each one, and his clinic is alw ays crow ded..

(2-Verily, man is in loss))

[Al-Asr,Verse:2]

His account in the bank is three billion pounds:

(2-Verily, man is in loss))

It is the Saying of the Creator of the heavens and earth:

(1- By Al-Asr (the time)  ; 2-Verily, man is in loss))

(103- Say (O Muhammad [p.b.u.h]):"Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds” ; 104-"Those whose efforts have been w asted in this life w hile they thought that they w ere acquiring good by their deeds))

[Al-Kahf,Verses:103-104]

It is very dangerous to w alk on a blocked road. If w e imagine that there is ten peoples w ho w ere dying of thirst and there is a spring nearby, every one of them hurried to the place that he thought he can find the spring in, but only one person found it, and the rest died, w e say that the one w ho reached the spring "has succeeded". The emperor of Japan, at the early stage of the Japanese renaissance, sent seven Japanese students to study in France, only one student gained a certificate, and the rest (six students) passed their time in w andering throughout France, its museums, gardens, cabarets, streets..etc, and they didn't study. The emperor ordered that the six to be executed and the diligent student to be honored and assigned in a remarkable position. And (Indeed he succeeds) means also that this Great God (One and Only) has created you to a particular aim (purpose), and if you know it, and act accordingly w ith the suitable speed, you w ill then success, except in rare cases. There is a person w ho w ants sincerely to know Allah, but he w alks in a w ay that doesn't lead to his aim, this person should be treated and disciplined, the other one is in the right w ay but he is slow in his motion, and this one is treated by some kinds of trials or tribulations:

(9- Indeed he succeeds w ho purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ow nself)

[Ash-Shams,Verses:9-10]

And he fails who corrupts himself:

Who is the biggest loser? he is hw w ho corrupted himself and put it in the dirt or mire(the mire of the (unlaw ful) desires and lusts), and preferred w hat is temporary to w hat is eternal and preferred money, w omen, food, the delights of this life:

[ Miserable is he w ho is a slave of (his) belly, miserable is he w ho is a slave of his lust (his private parts), miserable is he w ho is a slave of the Khamisah (a type of ancient expensive garments), miserable is he w ho is a slave of dirham and dinar(i.e. money and w ealth)].

He made himself a slave of the slaves of Allah out of love for money and lusts:

((9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ow nself))

And "corrupts it" means he put it in improper place. you w ere created to know your Lord, but w omen seduced you, and Allah created you to know Him, but you lived your life as a poor man, to die rich because of your stinginess, He created you in order that you know Him, but you sank deeply in ridiculous desire, and as a result, you made your profession as a grave for you, you spent all your time in your business and accounts, you didn't pray, you didn't do a good thing, the death came to you unexpectedly w hile you are empty-handed:

((9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ow nself))

Such a man failed and lost. This verse is very serious and critical, it is fateful, w hen you w alk on the right path you certainly know the aim that you w ere created to, that you may be happy w ith your Lord (Allah). When one enters into a w arm room in w inter, or into a cold one in summer and drinks a cup of cold fresh w ater after severe thirst, and sees a beautiful scene, and has a delicious meal, w hat does he enjoy himself? A touch of a beauty that Allah created in these creatures, w hat could you say if you know that in Paradise you w ill enjoy seeing Allah:

((22-Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant) ; {23-Looking at their Lord (Allah))

[Al-Qiyamah,Verses:22-23]

“You w ill see your Lord in the Paradise”.

“One w ill look at his Lord and w ill faint for fifty thousand years because of the happiness of this look”.

You have been created to this great happiness,,no heat, no coldness, no fear, no w orries, no problems, no alteration, no anxiety about running out of the raw materials, w ater, everything w ill be available endlessly besides the happiness of seeing Allah that lasts for fifty thousand years.

[I have prepared to My righteous slaves w hat no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and w hat has never come to a human's heart (mind)].

((55-Verily, the dw ellers of the Paradise, that Day, w ill be busy w ith joyful things; 56- They and their w ives w ill be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones; 57- They w ill have therein fruits (of all kinds) and all that they ask for; 58-(it w ill be said to them: Salam (peace be on you)--- a Word from the Lord (Allah), Most Merciful; 59-(It w ill be said ):"And O you Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners disbelievers in the Islamic Monotheism, w icked evil ones)! Get you apart this Day (from the believers) ; 60-Did I not command you, O Children of Adam, that you should not w orship Shaitan(Satan).Verily, he is a plain enemy to you))

[Ya-Sin,Verses:55-60]

This is the purpose, are you in the path of this aim, do you purify yourself? Do you admit that you have some diseases? There is a true believer noticed that he slanders the others (backbiting), he said to himself: this is a dangerous disease that I should avoid, I must observe myself, or he realized that he looks unlaw fully at some w omen in his w ay, he know s that this is forbidden. Have you a tenderheartedness and piety?

“Two raka's performed by a pious are better than one thousand ones performed by a Mukhallet (the person who mixes his good deeds w ith evil ones)”.

“He w ho doesn’t have a piety w hich deters him from the disobedience to Allah w hen he is alone, Allah w ill not care about anything of his deeds ( He doesn't accept it)”.

((1- Successful indeed))

It is an absolute success, you are an ordinary man, but you w ill feel as if you are in the Paradise w hen you know Allah:

((9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ow nself))

You are created to be happy w ith Allah the Great and Almighty, but this happiness has its price w hich is to purify yourself, w hen? In the w orldly life through the choice, the responsibility, your lusts and desires, and through this universe and thinking.

((10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ow nself))

The Thamud (people) rejected their prophet:

That is to say, his w ork w ould have been of no benefit to him, and he w ill taste the biggest loss, maybe, one looses in this life, but his loss is still limited, but the loss in the Hereafter is eternal. Now Allah w anted to show us an image of the loss, He said:

((11- Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression (by rejecting the true faith))

This means by their transgression, because they w ere transgressors. Transgression is to do against rules or violate the acceptable and reasonable limits and trespass the truth:

((11- Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression))

They transgressed and denied, denying and transgression are correlative, if one trespasses his limit w ith his partner, he certainly w ill deny the facts of the religion.

((11- Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression))

What w as that denying? The most w icked man among them w as deputed:

((12- When the most w icked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel))

They asked our master the Prophet Salih to bring a camel out of the mountain, and made this miracle a condition to their belief, and there is a law in the holy Qur'an that if a people ask their Prophet to bring a miracle, and their demand is fulfilled but they do not believe, then they deserve to be destroyed, because it is the last recourse. This means that there is no hope of their belief, and those asked that a camel should be brought out of the mountain, and w ho can do this is a real prophet, but w hen the camel w as brought out they denied him, and they w anted to kill the camel, Allah said:

((12- When the most w icked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel) ; 13- But the Messenger of Allah( Salih [p.b.u.h]) said to them: "Be cautious! ( Fear the evil end). That is the she –camel of Allah (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" ; 14- Then they denied him and they killed it))

The messenger of Allah said to them a she-camel of Allah:

Is it reasonable that the people of the Prophet Salih, w ho w ere ten thousands, contributed in killing the camel. No, but all of them accepted this idea. And our master Omar inferred from this verse that if all the people of a village engaged in killing one person, they w ill be executed, one and all. One man, maybe, killed him, but the rest encouraged him, and this is called the participation in murder, our Lord said:

((12- When the most w icked man among them went forth))

He w as the killer:

((13- But the Messenger of Allah( Salih [p.b.u.h]) said to them: "Be cautious! ( Fear the evil end). That is the she –camel of Allah (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" ;14- Then they denied him and they killed it))

All of them conspired to kill it, so they deserved the destruction:

((13- But the Messenger of Allah( Salih [p.b.u.h]) said to them: "Be cautious! ( Fear the evil end). That is the she –camel of Allah (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" ; 14- Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all graders of people, rich and poor, strong and w eak, etc.))

And the Qur'an is an explainer:

((Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin))

Then they rejected him and they hamstrung her:

There is a justice:

((14- Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction))

Aghadir, one of the most beautiful coastal cities on the Atlantic, and one of the most debauched cities also, their Lord destroyed them in three seconds, then it became just a stone over another, and after few w eeks, the bulldozers rolled it.

((So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction))

And you hear sometimes about hotels and tow ering buildings that w ere destroyed to be a leveled land:

((14- Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all graders of people, rich and poor, strong and w eak, etc.)! ; 15- And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof))

This man doesn't fear the results of his deeds, some people interpreted it that the Order of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, is the effective, and no one in the universe dares to ask Him w hy, this is a meaning, and there is another one, that this disobedient doesn't fear the consequences of his deeds, and also the adulterer, the drunk, the one w ho takes the money (inheritance) of the orphans unlaw fully, and the tyrant etc, how strange!

And for him is no fear of its consequences:

((14- Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all graders of people, rich and poor, strong and w eak, etc.) ; 15- And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof))

This is example:

((9- Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ow nself; 10-And indeed he fails w ho corrupts his ow nself; 11- Thamud (people) denied (their Prophet) through their transgression))

They denied because they transgressed.

((12- When the most w icked man among them went forth))

He w as the killer:

((13- But the Messenger of Allah( Salih[p.b.u.h]) said to them: "Be cautious! ( Fear the evil end). That is the she –camel of Allah (Do not harm it) and bar it not from having its drink!" ; 14- Then they denied him and they killed it))

They engaged in this sin:

((14- Then they denied him and they killed it. So their Lord destroyed them because of their sin, and made them equal in destruction (i.e. all graders of people, rich and poor, strong and w eak, etc.)! ; 15- And He (Allah) feared not the consequences thereof))
