The Education Britain Manchester Summit is the launch of “Education Britain” – a new national programme to connect education and business together for skills, growth and the future of young people. The aim of this event in Manchester is to explore the building of a common vision and understanding about the future of education and learning against priorities for economic growth, with a focus on the digital economy. 09.30-12.00pm Barclays - Break the Bank session (Committee room 2)

12.30-3.00pm A morning and an afternoon session with year 9 pupils from Manchester schools. Students will be working with mentors from Barclays Online Team as 'Digital Detectives' analysing websites and exposing defects. Split into teams the young people will compete against their peers to identify a series of different issues with the websites and win a range of prizes.

09.30-3.00pm Apadmi App in a Day (Committee room 301)

Local Mobile Application and Solutions company Apadmi who have done work with a number of our schools, will be hosting an intensive all day session for a group of year 9 students. The young people will work as one team to design, build and publish an app which will be presented to the full conference at the close of the day Education Britain is a national programme that connects education, entrepreneurship and business together for skills, growth and the future of young people. Led by The Education Foundation, the UK’s education think tank, the programme launches in Manchester, ahead of a series of education and business summits and events in major towns, cities and regions across the country.
