No, only those athletes who qualify for the final after the heats have been completed will compete in the final. 22. Are there any Consolation finals this year? No. For track events up to and including the 400m, there will 3 heats and only one final. For 800m there will be two timed finals and overall placing will be based on the performances across both races. The Relays, 1500m & Race Walks will be straight finals. 23. What happens with relays if events are running late? Relay events will not commence until all other events have been completed. We want to enable all athletes in all teams the opportunity to watch their teams compete in the relays and to cheer them on. 24. How are the relay runners listed on the Relay Form? As we are providing Live Streaming commentary, relay runners must be listed in running order. 25. Where will the coaching areas be located at the venue for the field events? Each field event will have a coach’s area located in the field of play close to the event, which will be marked by witches’ hats (or similar). 26. Who will be allowed to enter the coach’s area? Will it just be team management? Yes, only accredited team management as per the ALAC Regulation 2019 LAA RULE 701.22 AUSTRALIAN LITTLE ATHELETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS “Only accredited Team Management shall be permitted to coach athletes from within the areas reserved for this purpose. The coaching areas must be clearly defined.” 27. Most venues only have Triple Jump markings set for seniors at 9m, 11m and 13m. What if I can’t make it into the pit off the 9m board? There will be three take off lines set at 7m, 9m and 11m. 3 28. What will be the distance of the Long Jump board from the leading edge of the pit? The Long jump take off board will be set at 2m from the front edge of the pit. 29. Will a plasticine indicator board be used for the Long jump and triple Jump foul lines? Plasticine indicator boards will be used for Long Jump only. As the 7m and 9m take off boards are not sunk into the runway, plasticine will not be used. 30. How will two pits be run in high jump for the Combined-Event athletes? Athletes will be split into two groups based on their nominated starting height. The baseline height of 1.00m will be used to determine athletes nominated starting height. The bar on both pits will only be raised in increments of 3cm throughout the competition. The starting height for each pit may be different but will only be a multiple of 3cm from the baseline height i.e. one pit may start at 1.21m and the other pit may start at 1.33m. Both pits will meet at a certain height so there is no disadvantage to any athlete. Athletes should be confident and experienced enough to pass on a lower height and only come in at the height they are comfortable with. The use of two pits starting at different heights will ensure the event does not drag on for too long and that the better jumpers are not having to sit around waiting to begin jumping. Athletes may choose to start at a height different to their nominated height, however they must inform the Recorder judge prior to the commencement of the event if they will change. 31. What is the composition of the U15 Mixed Gender 4 x 100m Relay? The composition of the team is 2 boys and 2 girls, and they may run in any order.
