Snyder Collection, Special Collections Department, Tampa Library, University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. Biographical Note Frank Leonard Snyder was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 23, 1924. He graduated from the United States Air Force Armament School in Denver in 1942 and served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Snyder held various careers, including draftsman, engineer, executive, and professor. He retired in 1978 and began teaching business courses and at church ministries. Snyder devoted much of his later years to the study of , Florida's first civilian Territorial governor. He also wrote a history of Clearwater Christian College. Snyder died at Bay Pines V. A. Medical Center (Bay Pines, Florida) in 1993. Scope Note The Dr. Frank L. Snyder Collection consists of the materials Snyder gathered on Governor William Duval and Snyder's personal papers, library, computer files, photographs, awards, and plaques. Snyder and his wife gathered the Duval materials, dated roughly from 1802 to 1993. The Duval materials, primarily photographic reproductions, include research notes, articles, books, computer files, microfilm, and photographs by or about Duval. Snyder's personal papers and artifacts document his corporate and academic careers. Snyder personally referred to the majority of his collection as the Frank L. Snyder Library, which comprises Boxes 1 through 29. Boxes 30 through 46, arranged by type of record, contain the remainder of the collection.
