Sevyn-Streeter-Bio-2015.Pdf SEVYN STREETER Sevyn Streeter has cemented herself as a rising singer/songwriter with the success of her solo EP “Call Me Crazy, But…” which debuted at number 5 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. “It Won’t Stop,” the lead single from the EP, has proven a true phenomenon, topping Billboard’s “Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay” chart for 9 consecutive weeks, while climbing both Billboard’s “Hot 100” and “R&B/Hip Hop Songs” chart. In addition, the “It Won’t Stop” companion video – directed by and co- starring GRAMMY® Award-winner Chris Brown, with a special guest appearance by Portland Trail Blazers forward Dorrell Wright – is a YouTube smash, earning more than 43 million views thus far at Sevyn’s official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/sevynstreeter. “Call Me Crazy, But...” also featured an additional hit single, “nEXt” feat. Kid Ink (watch video: http://youtu.be/7MESh5DMfsw). The popularity of “nEXt” led Streeter to team up for a remix of the track featuring West Coast heavyweight rapper, YG (watch video: http://youtu.be/qSNOyLCCcAQ). In addition to making her mark as a solo artist, Sevyn is also a GRAMMY Award Winning songwriter, having written six songs from Chris Brown’s GRAMMY winning album, “Fame” as well as two songs from Alicia Keys’ GRAMMY winning album, “Girl on Fire”. Her songwriting credits include some of last year’s hottest singles, including Chris Brown’s “Fine China,” Tamar Braxton’s “All The Way Home,” Alicia Keys’ “New Day,” and Ariana Grande’s chart-topping hit, “The Way.” Streeter also recently released the new single off of her highly anticipated debut album. The single, “Don’t Kill The Fun” featuring Chris Brown, has taken off on radio and is being celebrated as one of the most “feel-good” songs of 2015. Sevyn Streeter is a 3 time ASCAP award winning songwriter who has been called upon by a remarkable roster of top studio superstars, including Diplo, Polow Da Don, Swizz Beats, Babyface, and many others, with Streeter’s co-writing credits on albums by Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Jessie J., Fantasia, and Estelle. .

Abstract In today’s pop culture world, celebrities are seen as perfect individuals with grand houses, cars, and entourages. When Chris Brown came on the scene in the mid-2000s, he was a teenage heartthrob who could do no wrong. That all changed when he brutally beat fellow music superstar and then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Brown’s media persona came crashing down, along with seemingly everything else in his life. However, in a situation where many artists would normally descend and never return, Brown has surged back almost to the heights he reached prior to 2009. How did this happen? What does the role of the music industry play in this? The norms and tendencies of the popular music industry are examined to determine the external factors that both hindered and helped Brown’s changes in reputation (and by extension, record sales) over time.

  • RESUMÉ Updated 8:2017
310-200-1847 [email protected] janellecarothers.com In the beginning, there was simply a love of story telling and a need to create. Over the years, as much as I’ve tried to convince myself otherwise ... there is no secret sauce - just relentless hard work, artistry and purpose. My love affair is the commitment to producing dujour moments for my clients. My attention to detail borders on madness. Seldom do I see apparel as a “yes” or “no,” but as abstract notions of color, proportion, patterns and genres to be cast into something strikingly picture-perfect. My best work springs from days of dehydration, famine, health food deprivation and 5AM crew calls. For some reason I can never find my car keys, but unfailingly earn gold stars for my flawless and timely execution of concepts - all while respecting the all mighty dollar. A good day consists of quality time with my son, working with creatives I respect, seventy-seven degree weather, and dark chocolate. TV/FILM Costume Designer REBEL.
