We’ve all heard the one about the non-stirring mouse in the house with the kids in their beds and sugar-plums in their heads. But what of the other Christmas-y things we hold dear, like the who used his dog to pull his sleigh instead of deer. Or the boy who wanted a present his parents forbid, as they chanted, “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!” We all love the snowman with the jolly, happy soul, the corncob pipe and two eyes made out of coal. These are all great classics from our parents’ day, but they’ve survived for our generation and they’re here to stay. Who can go one Christmas season without hearing all the happy kids hoping Santa’s nearing? Hopefully he brings presents and things, ■ and he’s not Jack Skelington, the Pumpkin King! Charlie Brown taught us that no matter what size the tree, the Spirit of Christmas makes us happy as can be. Tim Allen was in a movie that got some great applause ‘cause he found out that legally he was . There’s great Christmas tunes too, not just movies. We can sing along and laugh as we shake our booties. Mariah Carey says all she wants for Christmas is you, And Elvis says without you, his Christmas is blue. Even Mr. Springsteen sang a carol with E Street Band, about a man who comes with presents in hand. Rockin’ around the makes us feel alive but please don’t go ‘cause you know, baby, its cold outside. Madonna says to hurry down the chimney tonight, Santa Baby And bring joy to all the kids and parents and maybe stop by the best party that means business ‘cause it’s time to dance at Ludacrismas! So take all your candy from off of the shelf and mix it with spaghetti for Buddy the Elf! So whether you’re a ghost of the future, present, or past You’ve got to love Christmas, it’s such a blast! Come ride along with Dancer, Prancer, Donner, and Vixen and of course, the most famous reindeer we’re missin’, It’s Rudolph, with his nose that guides the sleigh to ensure that Santa will always find his way. Round up the family, drink some egg nog get cookies and milk, St. Nick won’t be long. Make sure that the children are nestled in bed and only those sweet, sweet sugar plums dance in their head. Then sit by the fire and remember just why, you’ve let your whole year just pass you by. It’s not about the money, the job, or the fame. « It’s about love and family. People knowing your name.
