A closer look behind the scenes of film making and media science reveals that the costumes used in film productions are products of a complex construction process. The costume designer has to put a lot of creative and investigative effort into the creation of costumes to provide the right clothes for a particular role, which means the costume reflects the place and time of play as well as it shows understanding of the characteristics of the role, actor and screenplay overall. -

History and Drafting of Hose By: Adelheid Holtzhauer
History and Drafting of Hose By: Adelheid Holtzhauer Introduction Leg coverings of some sort have been worn throughout history by both men and women. For the purposes of this class, the hose we will be looking at are fitted, closed footed and made of woven fabric. There are many garments called Hose and Hosen worn throughout history. Extant examples have been found dating back to the 2nd century such as the footed hose found a Martres-de- Veyre. Image 1: Womens woollen twill hose excavated at Martres-de-Veyre Although there are many different garments that could be referred to as hose, in this class we will be focusing on "Single Hose" and "Attached Hose". Single hose cover one leg and can vary in length/height. Attached hose are essentially tight fitted trews. Over the course of time, single hose went from knee length and gartered with trim, to full fitted "pants" to thigh high and attached with to a belt at the waist, to detached and gartered under the knee to the full legging style common in the late 161h century. Image 2 shows a pair of attached hose which are carbon dated to 1355 AD and were found in the Damendorf Bog. Exploring Queer Expressions in Mens Underwear Through Post Internet Aesthetic As Vaporwave
Mens underwear :Exploring queer expressions in mens underwear through post internet aesthetic as Vaporwave. Master in fashion design Mario Eurenius 2018.6.09. 1. Abstract This work explores norms of dress design by the use of post internet aesthetics in mens underwear. The exploration of underwear is based on methods formed to create a wider concept of how mens underwear could look like regarding shape, color, material and details. Explorations of stereotypical and significant elements of underwear such as graphics and logotypes has been reworked to create a graphical identity bound to a brand. This is made to contextualize the work aiming to present new options and variety in mens underwear rather than stating examples using symbols or stereotypic elements. In the making of the examples for this work the process goes front and back from digital to physical using different media to create compositions of color, graphic designs and outlines using transfer printer, digital print, and laser cutting machine. Key words: Mens underwear, graphic, colour, norm, identity, post internet, laser cut. Magical Clothing Fo R Discerning Adventurers
Magical Clothing fo r Discerning Adventurers Anja Svare Sample file Introduction Table of Contents I really like making magic items. General Clothing 3 Now, there’s nothing wrong with how 5e presents the majority of magic items. But the tend to get a little stale. Potions are all essentially the same, scrolls don’t really have much interest Outerwear 6 other than what spell they contain, you’ve got a few interesting things that aren’t weapons or armor, but that’s about it. Most of those will either break a game because of their power, or Headwear 12 they should require a massive quest of campaign-level, world- spanning heroics to obtain. There just aren’t a lot of items that everyday adventurers want, Footwear 14 that won’t break the bank so to speak, and are things that are actually useful. Everybody wears clothes (I don’t want to think about nude D&D), and everybody loves magic items for their Accessories 16 character.. Combining the two seemed like a good idea, but I didn’t want Special Orders 20 to go with just pants, shirts, etc. I scoured the internet for medieval period clothing, and narrowed down a list of items that were common across a wide range of times and places throughout Europe during the Middle Ages. Now, I did come Glossary 22 across some interesting clothing items that fell outside that range or geography, and a few are included here. None of the items presented here are gender specific. I intentionally left any mention of that out of each item. -
Munsingwear" Still Alive in 1894 When Munsing Left to Pursue a Career As an Inventor
MH f/ QCO ccz!" ODO ILU-I KATIMES.COM , When your underwear is in a bundle, creeping and crawling where it does not belong, the discomfort can have a significant impact on the quality of your day. Hence, the quest for perfect-fitting undergarments. Admittedly, even our worst options today are far superior to the loin cloths, corsets and wool union suits our ancestors had to wear. George D. AAunsing understood the importance of comfort, and he initiated a huge leap forward in the underwear department during the late 1800s. Among his numerous patents involving knitting, sewing and crocheting machines, his most famous involved an itchless wool union suit and better-fitting undershirts and underpants. The company he helped found, which eventually became known as AAunsingwear, was part of the fabric of Minneapolis history for more than 100 years. Here's a brief "under-view" of some of the more colorful swatches of AAunsingwear history. ///////////////////////////^^^^ company couldn't keep up with demand. Unable to deliver the goods, they struggled to keep the business alive. In 1887, three well-known Minneapolis businessmen - Charles A. Pillsbury (flour), Clinton Morrison (banking) and Thomas Lowry (transportation) - served on the board of directors "Don't Say and purchased stock to infuse capital into the company. Two key decisions kept the business Underwear afloat: the company set up a distribution office in — Say New York and established temporary agreements with textile subcontractors. The business was Munsingwear" still alive in 1894 when Munsing left to pursue a career as an inventor. The other two founding In 1974 sales were $104 partners had also left the company by this time. -

Warp the Loom – Wrap the Dead Trapezoid shaped textiles from the Chiribaya culture, South Peru, AD 900-1375 Wynne Minkes Trapezoid shaped garments are not common in the Andean Pre-Columbian cultures. Generally, men and women wore sleeveless tunics made from the whole woven fabric without cutting and sewing it into any shape as did the Europeans for instance. The lengths of these tunics ranged from chest to ankle. Often the shorter tunics were complemented by loincloths or skirts. The number of fabrics needed to make these garments would vary: one web folded in half or two or more webs sown together. The warps were hardly ever cut from the loom bar and wefts would be inserted up to the heading cord with the use of a needle.
