CLR. J. F. OBERHOLZER, M.P.C.

The Co-ordinating Council, to use its popular title, is providing a most valuable service by compiling a Directory of Johannesburg Welfare Organisations. Johannesburg has an enviable reputation for the high standard of welfare work which it tackles in every category, mostly with the assistance of dedicated voluntary workers.

I commend the idea and regard this innovation as one which could be followed with good effect throughout .

I sincerely hope the Directory will become a “best-seller”. There can be no doubt of its usefulness as a “guide to the perplexed” in the field of welfare organisations.

The introduction of this Directory is in keeping with the deter mination to make the Johannesburg Co-ordinating Council of Social Welfare Organisations a dynamic up-to-date body. I wish the project every success and have pleasure in commending the Directory to all who are interested in or support welfare work in Johannesburg.

J. F. OBERHOLZER, L.P.R. BURGEMEESTER.
