1.Melbourne Test: Bumrah, Ashwin, Siraj put India on top as collapse for 195

3.India bring in Shubman Gill, for Boxing Day Test

India have made as many as four changes for the second Test. India on Friday announced its Playing XI for the Boxing Day Test against Australia, making as many as four changes to the line-up for the second match of the series that will begin on Satuday. India suffered a humiliating loss in the first Test in Adelaide after an abominable show that saw the visitors being reduced to just 36 in the second innings. Australia lead the series 1-0 after winning the day/night match by eight wickets. With skipper on paternity leave, and out injured, Shubman Gill and bowler Mohammad Siraj will make their Test debut for India at Melbourne. The out-of-form opener has been excluded.

4.When COVID-19 lockdown set fantasy sports free in India

Fantasy gaming today more than 10 crore users, across more than 150 players. When mobile wallet PayTM added gaming to its app, it didn’t have much to do with business expansion or getting a foothold in a new genre. The idea was a bit more territorial and down-to-earth. “Yes, one of the ideas…was to increase engagement with our users and offer something beyond just payments and transactions, “admits Sudhanshu Gupta, chief operating officer of PayTM First Games. “We started by introducing interactive content on Paytm app that included casual games and contests.”

Then, analytics noticed something pretty curious. “We observed that these games had become quite popular among our users. Besides paying bills and availing other services on the Paytm app, they were also engaging in our games for longer durations every passing day. That was when PayTM decided to create a separate app for

7 mobile gaming, eventually titled PayTM First Games, and expand the number of games it offered.

5.Chetan Sharma appointed new chairman of selectors

Former India pacer Chetan Sharma was on Thursday appointed chairman of the senior national selection panel by the BCCI's Advisory Committee (CAC), which also picked Mumbai's and Odisha's Debasis Mohanty in the five-member team.

The new panel was formed on the sidelines of the Board's 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM) here, with Sharma pipping Maninder Singh and from the north zone. "It's indeed a privilege for me to get an opportunity to serve Indian cricket once again. I am a man of few words and my action will speak louder than words," Sharma, who has a five- haul at Lord's in a Test match, told PTI."I can only thank BCCI for this opportunity," the 54-year-old added. Former medium pacer Kuruvilla, who was backed by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) bigwigs, was preferred over a more decorated Ajit Agarkar from the west zone.

6.Roger Federer, Serena Williams commit to next year’s Australian Open

Australian Open will begin from February 8. Two of tennis’s biggest stars, Roger Federer and Serena Williams, were among the entries announced to the 2021 Australian Open, which will begin from February 8. Tournament director Craig Tiley also assured that the safety of players and their staff is top priority, vowing a “happy slam” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Apart from Federer and Serena, world number one Ashleigh Barty and Novak Djokovic have also signed on for the year’s first grand slam after months of planning and uncertainty.

“There are so many great storylines for AO 2021,” Tiley said. “Serena is gunning for her eighth title while Novak, who often seems invincible at Melbourne Park, is going for a record ninth title.

“Our own world No.1 Ash Barty will return to grand slam competition, as will Roger Federer as he comes back from injury.”

7.Hall of Fame Celtics player, coach K.C. Jones dies Former player and coach K.C. Jones died Friday at the age of 88, the team announced. A cause of death for the Hall of Famer was not immediately known.

“The way that he was revered by the players he played with, by the people he worked with, by the players that played for him, he was special,” Celtics coach said of Jones.Jones won two NCAA championships while playing with at the University of San Francisco. He also paired with Russell to lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.Jones joined the Celtics after being selected with the 13th overall pick of the 1956 NBA Draft. His first eight seasons ended with NBA championships, and he went on to win four more titles -- two as an assistant (one with the , one with Boston) and two more as a head coach with the Celtics.

Jones averaged just 7.4 points during his playing career, although his defensive skills were his calling card. He retired after the 1966-67 season. Jones went on to coach at Brandeis University and made a few other stops before returning to the Celtics as an

9 assistant under Bill Fitch in 1977. Jones later became the head coach of the Celtics and led the team to NBA titles in 1984 and 1986. Jones, who owns a 552-306 coaching record during his time in the NBA and ABA, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1989

1. Andy Murray awarded wildcard for 2021 Australian Open

LONDON, : Former world no 1 Andy Murray has been awarded a wildcard for the 2021 Australian Open. This will be the first time Murray will play in Melbourne since the 2019 event, where he said he was considering retiring from the sport after he tournament due to a chronic hip pain.

"We welcome Andy back to Melbourne with open arms," tournament director Craig Tiley was quoted as saying by BBC Sport. His retirement was an emotional moment and seeing him come back, having undergone major surgery and built himself back up to get on to the tour again, will be a highlight of AO 2021." Murray lost in five sets to Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round of the 2019 Australian Open after which the organizer’s had even played a video montage in tribute to his career featuring fellow tennis stars bidding him farewell. Eventually, however, he reversed his decision to retire.

2. Guys applied themselves against 'unlucky' Pakistan, says Williamson

WELLINGTON, DEC 27 : New Zealand said that he was proud of the work his team had put in to recover from the early loss of wickets in the first Test against Pakistan. Williamson led the way with a masterful 129 on the second day as New Zealand put up a total 431 despite being 13/2 in the first 11 overs. "It was really tough. Obviously, the ball was moving around quite a bit and they asked good questions in good areas. It was also quite difficult to score and to get a rhythm scoring - a lot of the

3. Paine becomes fastest wicketkeeper to 150 Test dismissals

MELBOURNE,: Australia captain on Sunday became the fastest wicketkeeper to reach 150 Test dismissals. Paine completed a catch in the 60th over to send back his India counterpart off the bowling of fast bowler to reach the milestone. Paine, 36, has reached 150 dismissals in just 33 innings, thus putting him ahead of South Africa's , who took 34 innings to reach the number.
