Gimpanzee’s public workout in his $54,833 division saw him easily vault over five overmatched inside foes. He then dealt a hand of three quarters of :29, :58 and 1:27 before coasting home for the 1:55 victory. The final margin was 7½ lengths, with Cavill Hanover (Ake Svanstedt) edging Lucky Weekend (Jason Bartlett). It was the 11th victory in as many career starts for Gim- panzee, last season’s frosh divisional—and New York Sire Stakes—champ.
