HOW TO FIND US BY CAR

From the M27 Leave the M27 at Junction 5, which is signed for / Airport/Eastleigh/A335. Follow the signposts onto the A335 Southampton/. Continue along Stoneham Way dual carriageway following signs for University/Swaythling keeping going straight, in the right-hand lane. At the first set of traffic lights go straight on A35 High Road. Bear right at the second set of traffic lights, continuing on the A335, and then head straight on again at the third set of traffic lights, moving into the right hand lane. At the fourth set of traffic lights, keep left into High Road. Turn left at the next set of traffic lights into Woodmill Lane and over the railway bridge. At the bottom of the slope turn left into Wessex Lane. Parking is on the left hand side in Montefiore House.

From the M3 Leave the M3 at junction at junction 14, exit toward Southampton/A33 carry straight on to the first roundabout. Continue straight on (2nd exit) onto A33/Bassett Ave heading down into Southampton, straight on at the next roundabout then at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Burgess Road (signposted University). Proceed down Burgess Road (A35), past the University and Burger King which will both be on your right, down to the junction with Langhorn Road on your right (just past the Methodist Church which is, again, on the right).Turn into Langhorn Road and proceed to the traffic lights at the end. Head straight over at the traffic lights and over the railway bridge. At the bottom of the slope turn left into Wessex Lane. Parking is on the left hand side in Montefiore House.

Parking

A parking attendant will be situated at the main entrance from 9:00am onwards, and will hand out parking permits when you arrive. Parking permits will have a tear off part which can be exchanged for a Bus pass. Simply hand it to the unilink bus driver and you will be given a day ticket in return. There is a 10 minute U1C service to the university from Wessex Lane which runs very regularly throughout the day (approximately every 15 mins). The bus stop is opposite the main entrance.

HOW TO FIND US BY TRAIN

Southampton has two main train stations: Southampton Airport (Parkway) or Southampton Central Station. Both stations are serviced by a bus route to the Main Campus provided by the Unilink bus service. From the central station take the U1A to the Wessex Lane Halls. From Southampton Airport (Parkway) take the U1C to the Wessex Lane Halls. Details of bus times can be found at www.unilinkbus.co.uk

HOW TO FIND US BY COACH

When you book your ticket, ask for the University of Southampton, you will then be dropped at the Highfield Interchange on the Main Campus of the University. You can then take the U1A to Wessex Lane for the accommodation tour.

HOW TO FIND US BY CAR

By car the National Oceanography Centre has direct links from the M3, A33, M27 and A27. If using the M3 and leave at Junction 13. Follow signs to Dock Gate 4 and the Waterfront for approximately 6 miles.

If using the M27 leave at Junction 5, which is signed for Southampton/ Airport/Eastleigh/A335. Follow the signs to the Waterfront, Dock Gate 4.

Car parking is extremely limited on Visit Days. If you have not been advised of an allocated parking space at NOCS please use the public car parks at either Town Quay or Ocean Village.

HOW TO FIND US BY TRAIN

Southampton has two main train stations: Southampton Airport (Parkway) or Southampton Central Station There is a Uni-Link Bus service (U1C Dock Gate 4) which starts at Southampton City Airport travels to Southampton Central train station then travels directly to the NOCS campus. Southampton City Link Bus Service is a free service that runs from Town Quay - West Quay - ASDA - Central Train Station. It is approximately a 15 minute walk to NOCS from Town Quay.

HOW TO FIND US BY COACH

When you book your ticket, ask for the Southampton Central coach station. This coach station is approximately 5 minute walk from Southampton Central train station where you will be able to catch the City Link Bus service to Town Quay. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank as you exit the coach station.

HOW TO FIND US BY FERRY There are frequent ferries from Cowes, Isle of Wight and Hythe, directly to Southampton Docks (Town Quay).
