Dear Hr. Kuhn:

Please find enclosed a preliminary list of key fish streams crossed b y the proposed Northwest A1 ask an Plpe l ine Company .Gas PIPELINE between Delta and the Canadian Bqrder h As outlined in sti pul ati on 2 .5.4.1 of the current draft State and Federal Grants of Right-of-Way, this stream list also includes a esi nation of sensitive times for each of the watercourses. Data contalne ln t e document s ou e utilized in planning for preconstruction, construction, operation and maintenance, and termination activities associated with the PIPELINE SYSTEM. This document does not constitute a complete listing of streams that require Alaska Statute Title 16.05.870 authorization for in-stream activities.

A fish stream list for the area north of Delta also will be prepared. Both lists will be updated annually.

Sincerely,

~~L~State Pipeline Coor

NORTHWEST ALASKAN PIPELINE COMPANY

GAS PIPELINE, DELTA TO THE CANADIAN BORDER

MARCH, 1979 Introduction

A list of fish streams along the proposed Northwest Alaskan Pipeline Company gas pipeline route from Delta to the Cana dian border has been compiled by the Interagency Fish and Wildlife Task Force as outlined by draft Stipulation 2.5.4.1 of the current State and Federal Grant of Right-of-Way. This document is a preliminary listing prepared by the IFTWF.

Fish streams that cross the p roposed pipeline alignment are identified from Northwest Alaskan Pipeline Company construc tion drawings by alignment sheet, milepost , and station number. Streams listed have been documented to contain fi§b p urees unless otherwise noted. Periods of sensit1v1ty when in-stream disturbance f or construction or maintenance activities should b e limited have been determined through presence and site specific knowledge of fish utili zation of a system. £;itical periods encompassing migration, ~ awning, incubation, and overwi n t ering have been del lneat e d by a sol id line; sensitive per1od s, de t 1ned as fish p resence 4 uring less critical life stages, are delineated by a dashed line.
