Lembeh Resort – Lembeh Straits, Indonesia May, 2015 Lembeh Straits lies near Manado, Sulawesi in Indonesia. Lembeh Straits is known to have some of the best muck diving and photo opportunities in Indonesia. Divers go to Lembeh Straits to photograph creatures that cannot be found anywhere else. A typical Lembeh Strait dive site is mostly sand, with small scattered patches of sponges, reef, or anemones. The small patches of life are typically homes to marine life such as clownfish, crinoid shrimps, small frogfish, pipefish, seahorses, nudibranchs, and harlequin shrimp. In the sand you will be looking for species such as various octopus, snake eels, mantis shrimp, gobies, nudibranchs and sanddivers. In the shallows juvenile fish are usually more common. In addition to muck diving, Lembeh Straits offers wall, reef and drift dives. We are still working on the details of this trip and will not be able to arrange flights until mid-summer. Our stay at Lembeh Resort will extend over 10 days from May 9-18, 2015. In addition to the diving portion of our trip in Lembeh Straits, we plan to spend a couple days in Singapore prior to diving and spend about three days in Hong Kong on our return. In total, we expect to leave Chicago around May 5 and will return around May 22. For those with a less flexible schedule, there will be an opportunity to book just the diving portion and transportation to and from Indonesia. That portion will span over approximately two weeks. This trip has been very popular. If you are interested in joining us, please contact us as soon as possible. The resort has only 20 rooms, so space is limited.
