1. The Procès-Verbal which extends the validity of the Declaration of 24 October 1953 by which commercial relations between certain contracting parties to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade and the Government of Japan are regulated on the basis of the General Agreements was opened for signature on 1 . The Procès-Verbal was signed on that day by the representative of the Government of Japan, The instrument was signed by representatives of the following contracting parties on the dates indicated below: 1 February 1955 Norway 4 February 1955 Luxemburg 11 February 1955 Nicaragua 11 February 1955 Denmark 15 February 1955 Uruguay 15 February 1955 16 February 1955 Greece 17 February 1955 Burma 19 February 1955 India 22 February 1955 Sweden 2 March 1955 4 March 1955 8 March 1955 Belgium 8 March 1955 Pakistan 8 March 1955 DominicanRepublic 11 March 1955 United States 21 March 1955 The Procès-Verbal extends the validity of the Declaration of 24 October 1953 between Japan and the aforementioned contracting parties until 31 1955 unless before that date the Declaration has ceased to have effect by reason of Japan's accession to the General Agreement. 2. In addition, the Procès-Verbal has been signed ad referendum by the Federal Republic of Germany on 3 February 1955. 3. This Procés-Verbal will remain open for signature or acceptance by other contracting parties at the Héadquarters of the CONRACTING PARTIES in Geneva until 31 . The contracting parties will be informed of further signatures and acceptances by addenda to this document. 4. The text of the Procès-Verbal is contained in document G/94. A certified true copy of this instrument was sent to each contracting party on 17 February 1955.
