Warm Welcome to Fr. Kevin

We extend a very warm Welcome to Fr. Kevin Heery who becomes the new priest in our Parishes as of this Friday. We pray that Fr. Kevin’s time with us will be a time of spiritual renewal as we all grow together in the love of Christ. May the Lord continue to bless and protect him and his new parishes.

Farewell to our Friend, Fr. Brendan

As this weekend is Fr. Brendan’s last weekend in our Parishes, we the Members of the Parish Pastoral Councils in Ardcath/ Clonalvy and Curraha take this opportunity to Thank You Most Sincerely for the dedicated service you have so selflessly given in your Ministry as our beloved Parish Priest for almost eight years. We Thank You for your pastoral care to all, your kindness to everyone, your love and care of the sick and housebound, and your special bond with children, especially those preparing for their Sacraments, your Christian and Spiritual devotion to your calling, always with good humour and personable presence. We Thank You for being always willing to listen, cooperate with, empathise and respond so positively to our individual and community needs and requests in our parishes.

Your move to our neighbouring parish of / came as a surprise to us, but as you prepare to serve and work with those very lucky parishioners, you will no doubt take on with gusto, enthusiasm, and diligence all the fresh challenges your latest appointment may bring in the future.

On behalf of all the Parish groups, the Parish Secretaries, Sacristans, the Choirs and Musicians, the Ministers of the Eucharist and Word, the Finance Committees, our School Principals, Teaching Staffs and Pupils, and the Boards of Management, and all others in our parishes with whom you had such a wonderful working relationship, which made Religious Services, Sacraments and all those other Special Occasions so very SPECIAL, we say a Huge THANK YOU.

We also Thank You for your inspirational leadership, collaboration and guidance to the Parish Councils on the various larger projects in church and parish properties so successfully completed in your time with us. Not forgetting, and just to mention a few of the many manual works carried out by you personally on parish buildings which includes, painting church doors, drilling vent holes in walls, replacing lights, replacing slates on church roofs, fixing carpets, installing the web camera, spraying weeds around churches and grave yards, and the ordinary day to day things that needed attention, and only in the last week or two putting a new roof on the garage at the Parochial House. PHEW ! To use a local colloquialism, ‘Some Man For One Man’

As you prepare to move to your new Parish we wish you All God’s Blessings, good health, and all the very best to you and your Family in the future. You will always we welcomed back in our homes and parishes, so please do not be a stranger. May God continue to Bless and inspire you Fr. Brendan.
