Preparations For Bridge Demolition Begin Next Week Several Lane Reductions, Ramp Closures Scheduled

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – As part of the Department of Transportation’s $40 million (U.S. Hwy. 95) viaduct rehabilitation project in downtown , crews will begin preparing to demolish the aging Road bridge next week. To accommodate this work, several lane reductions and ramp closures along I-515 (US 95) between Boulder Highway and Flamingo Rd will occur next week.

The restrictions are as follows:

• At 9 p.m. Sunday, August 8, the two right lanes of north and southbound I-515 (US 95) between Boulder Highway and Flamingo Rd will close. The restrictions will remain in place until 5 a.m. Monday, August 9.

• At 9 p.m. Monday, August 9, the two right lanes on northbound I-515 (US 95) between Boulder Highway and Flamingo Rd will close. The restrictions will remain in place until 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 10.

• From Monday, August 9 through Friday, August 13, beginning at midnight, southbound I-515 (US 95) will be reduced to a single lane of traffic from Boulder Highway to Flamingo Rd. Restrictions will be lifted at 5 a.m.

• From Monday, August 9 through Wednesday, August 11, the Boulder Highway on-ramp to southbound I-515 (US 95) will close between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning.

• From Tuesday, August 10 through Friday, August 13, northbound I-515 (US 95) between Boulder Highway and Flamingo Rd will be reduced to a single lane between midnight and 5 a.m. During this same time period, the northbound off ramp to Boulder Highway will be closed.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions.
