Naturopathy Benefit Connecticut State Retiree Health Plan
The UnitedHealthcare® Group Medicare Advantage (PPO) plan includes coverage for routine naturopathic services. UnitedHealthcare uses OptumHealth Physical Health to administer the benefit on its behalf.
What is Naturopathy? Naturopathic medicine is a distinct health care profession that emphasizes prevention, treatment and optimal health focusing on the body’s ability to heal itself. Naturopathy uses diet, exercise, lifestyle changes and natural therapies to enhance the body’s ability to ward off and combat disease.
What is covered? Your plan covers office visits to a naturopath provider. Please refer to your plan’s Summary of Benefits and Evidence of Coverage for more details including what you will pay.
Are there any service limitations or exclusions? Yes. Covered services do not include herbs, homeopathic remedies, medications and nutritional supplements, vitamins or vitamin injections.
