The Club ofered a place for hundreds of neighborhood kids to go. From that vision of having a safe place for kids to learn and grow, we now have 16 locations where we serve over 3000 children and teens annually.

From those humble beginnings we’re now Nate Spera Will Armstead in 4 Clubhouses (2 in Port St. Lucie and 2 in Fort Pierce) County. Additionally, we oversee a successful truancy and program 12 school at based 8 schools clubs andin St. a Luciegang prevention outreach initiative as well. While many things have changed over the years, the commitment and partnership from the community and staf, continues to grow stronger. As the largest afterschool youth development agency on the we continue to strive for excellence by giving kids who need us most a world class Club experience when they walk through our doors. The support we receive from community leaders, St.Lucie County and City government, businesses, foundations, citizens, parents, staf, and our children, allows us to focus on Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles. This year we have four “Youth of the Year” candidates who will compete for the prestigious title for the County. The candidates have gone through a rigorous interview process with several community leaders, business professionals, and staf. The winner will have an opportunity to compete at the state level, regionally and perhaps nationally. The youth of the year is the voice that represents all the youth we serve and their success story is attributed to your investment. Your support is important and our youth depend on us to teach them how to become productive citizens. We are also pleased to share with you our annual report for Fiscal year 2014-2015. On behalf of our youth, Board of Directors, and Staf, we thank you for your continuous support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. Sincerely,

She spent her irst two years at the Garden Terrace Unit, and then became a member at the Chuck Hill Unit. As a Club member, Leeandrea was a diligent and a focused student with a unweighted GPA of 3.5, and a weighted GPA of 4.9 as a Senior in High School. Since her Junior year, Leeandrea was dually enrolled at Indian River State College and received both her high school diploma and her Associate’s in Arts Degree in May 2015. After touring The Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU), through the Club’s “Excel With Exposure College Tour” she applied and was accepted for Fall 2015. Leeandrea was a Varsity Tennis Player for LPA, on the Dance team at the Club, and also a two-term President of the Silver Level Chuck Hill Unit Keystone Club. She earned over 1,000 service hours serving as a Junior Staf, Lead on Projects such as Elder Care Day, Park Clean-Ups, Day 4 Kids, and serving families at her church’s soup kitchen. She is now attending college at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. “My major is Pharmacy. I took seven classes, including: Chemistry 2, Chemistry 2 Lab, Calculus, Geography, African American History, Historical Survey, and Pharmacy Forum. I received 4 A’s and 2 B’s, earning a 3.6 GPA for the semester. I believe the irst semester in college was one of the largest obstacles I have had to overcome thus far. It was a challenge juggling seven classes and being away from my family in a new city. I learned a lot about myself, and grew into a stronger, more independent individual. In the future I plan to continue studying pharmacy at Florida A&M University. I am not sure what area of pharmacy I would like to enter but I am leaning more toward retail,” said Leeandrea Jones.
