After nearly a year of public input, planning and drafting, the final version of Morganton’s downtown master plan was unveiled by city officials in 2018. After working with a consulting firm and asking for input from the community on the top projects that should be set for the future of downtown, officials released the “Top 10 in 5” section, which outlines 10 plans Morganton should complete within the next five years. The key points of the plan focus on current downtown conditions, goals, plans and implementation strategies.
