The accident occurred at around 10 am today when a Link Bus, registration number, UBA 332B swerved off the road after a tire puncture. After losing control, the bus overturned and slipped into the trench at Namayonjo village in Wabinyonyi sub-county along Kampala-Gulu highway. Police officers and residents rushed to the scene where many of the injured were removed from the wreckage and rushed to Nakasongola military hospital, Bombo military hospital, Nakasongola health center IV, and Luweero health center IV and Mulago hospital for treatment. The dead have been transferred to Nakasongola health center IV mortuary. Savannah regional police spokesperson Paul Kangave said that the injured sustained multiple wounds on legs, arms, and heads. On Saturday last week, one person died on the spot and nine others critically injured in an accident involving Gaagaa bus in Nakasongola district along Kampala-Gulu highway. The accident occurred at around at Kibira zone in Migyera township&#039s when Gaagaa bus registration number UAP 765H heading to Kampala knocked a stationary trailer registration number UAW 766T/UAS 116K of Panfric company from behind before it overturned. Most target populations rely on the media for their information and the authorities use the media to disseminate outbreak information. The media, particularly locally based media, is as a result, crucial to public health outcomes. Reports on outbreaks should be as easy to understand as possible. However, there is, at times, a mismatch between the ideal and the practice. In looking at an example of the practice, this opinion hopes to influence the negotiation for the ideal in outbreak reporting. ATOMIC ENERGY COUNCIL ANNUAL REPORT 2014/2015 To regulate peaceful applications of ionizing radiation in Uganda for the protection and safety of the public and the environment from the dangers resulting from ionizing radiation FOREWARD The Atomic Energy Council was established by the Atomic Energy Act No. 24 of 2008, Laws of Uganda, to regulate the peaceful applications of ionizing radiation in the country. The Council consists of a policy organ with five Council members headed by the Chairperson and a full time Secretariat headed by the Secretary. The Council members are appointed by the Minister. During the reporting period, the Council extended its services to various parts of the country ranging from registering facilities that use radiation sources, authorizing of operators, monitoring occupational workers, carrying out inspections of facilities among others. The Council made achievements which include developing safety guides for medical and industrial practices, establishing systems of notifications, authorizations, inspections and enforcement, establishing national and international collaborations with other regulatory bodies and acquisition of some equipment among others. The Council also participated in the IAEA General Conference. Among other challenges, funding was the major constraint to the implementation of the Act and the regulations by the Council. This was coupled with inadequate equipment and insufficient number of staff. The Council will focus on institutional development, establishing partnerships and collaborations and safety and security of radioactive sources in the FY 2015/2016. The Council would like to thank the government and in particular the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), the International Atomic Energy Agency, United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other organizations and persons who have helped Council in executing its mandate.

A mixed method was used and both interviews and secondary Information was collected from local people and secondary sources i.e., face book pages, videos, tweets, newspapers, local television stations news and political discussions.A team of research assistants interviewed, various people in the affected areas includingthe people representatives, local leaders, Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), some survivors and grieving families in the Rwenzori region. This research aimed to answer eightresearch questions; Why was the Omusinga’s Palace at Buhikira attacked? Why King Mumbere was arrested? Who are the royal Guards? How many people were at the palace at the time of attacking the Palace? Did Mumbere defy president Museveni’s call before the attack? What is the mystery behind the creation of the Yiira Republic? and what are the effects of the Rwenzori saga? Results indicated that, Ministerial Commission set for Kajura (2005) should be reviewed and implemented in order to solve the long standing tribal conflicts and land tensions in the Rwenzori region.
