Note: This cowl is worked in the round then folded in half after completion to create another layer of warmth. You may work this on straight needles, then seam it together at the end. Directions are for Toddler but it can fit all the way up to 5 years old.

1. Cast on Cast on 42 sts using the long tail cast on method or the method your most comfortable using. Join in the round. If your using the an extra stitch to join, remember to cast on one extra stitch.

2. Body Work the K1, P1 for a total of 25 rounds or until your piece measures 8.5-9” before stretching. This measurement applies to yarn mixed with wool. Fibers with no wool content may not stretch as much so you may need to knit to 9.5” instead. If you notice that your stitches are uneven/pushing out more than others, no worries, a steam at the end will fix that

3. Casting Off Bind off using the standard bind off method. Standard Bind Off Tutorial Cut yarn, leaving a 6in tail. Weave in tail

Feel free to use this pattern to do plain knit rows, k2, p2 ribbing, garter or any of your favorite stitches.

This is the way that my daughter wears the cowl. The front part is normally wrapped in front of her mouth during the really cold days. The back stays up to cover her neck whenever she happens to bend down.

My name is Teai and I am the designer behind Snowflake Crochet. My brand started with the goal of making modern designs beginner friendly and stylish. As of recent, I have decided to make those designs more purposeful by donating all proceeds from this pattern to Dominica to aide in Hurricane Maria and Irma relief. The hurricanes may have passed but families are still very much affected. Thank you for your support.
