Pipefitter BASIC FUNCTION

M2, a local General Contractor specializing in construction of water and wastewater facilities, licensed in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland is currently seeking experienced and highly- skilled pipefitters and mechanics to join our team. You will collaborate with the site superintendent to layout, assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment to walls structures, fixtures, and tanks, and other items necessary. You will layout and install process equipment. The candidate must know how to read and interpret project plans and specifications, work with raw and finish materials, and have a good working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Read and interpret drawings and sketches and to understand project specifications

• Take measurements and calculate the sizes and amounts of materials (pipes and fittings) needed for the project

• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.

• Attach pipes to walls, structures, fixtures and tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment

• Testing pipe systems using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods. to ensure safety and functionally

• Inspect layout and install process equipment in relation to the piping and fittings

• Inspect products and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed

• Work with minimal supervision under a site superintendent

• Comply with all company and governmental safety guidelines

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Completion of a pipefitting program at a vocational school or pipefitting apprenticeship preferred • 5+ years of professional pipefitting experience a plus

• Strong working knowledge of pipefitting techniques and methods, including installation and construction

• Proficient in using electrical and hand tools as well as measurement tools

• Able to read and interpret specifications and technical drawings

• Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity
