Dutch projects

North Sea Jazz Since 2011 BNP Paribas is partner of the North Sea Jazz Festival, the annual jazz festival that will take place beginning July in Rotterdam. The main focus of the partnership is the support of jazz talent and bringing children into contact with jazz music. BNP Paribas does this via its Foundation by supporting North Sea Jazz for Kids and the Paul Acket Award.

LEF BNP Paribas supports Foundation Life and Finance, one of the fastest growing initiatives in the field of financial education in The Netherlands. LEF stands for Life and Finance and aims to improve financial awareness among young people. LEF helps young people understand what money can do and gives more insight into financial and personal behavior. Unique to the program is that the lessons at the schools will be given by financial advisors (employees of the sponsors). The themes are incorporated into the existing education module "The Critical Consumer" of ROC's (community colleges) which form a fixed part of the curriculum.

Cultural projects One of the latest projects of the Foundation in The Netherlands is the financial support to restore the 18th century panels painted by Juriaan Andriessen at Museum Van Loon in Amsterdam. The panels are located in the Drakensteynkamer, named after the Royal Palace Drakensteyn, where the panels originate from. Other projects were BNP Paribas’ contribution to the conservation of the ceiling painting "Triumph of Peace in the Peace Palace in The Hague in 2011 and the support of exhibition of French Drawings From Watteau to Ingres in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. Additionally, The foundation sponsored several cultural events on stage in The Netherlands: the Ballet Preljocaj at the Holland Dance Festival in The Hague, Le Concert Spirituel by Hervé Niquet in Het Concertgebouw and the dance festival Julidans in Amsterdam.

Literature The Foundation has been continuously supporting local initiatives and stimulates cultural exchanges between countries.
