Total Production In 2010, $44.8 million was generated through the county’s agricultural and forestry production sector.

Agricultural Production , nursery, and floriculture production was the largest agricultural commodity, contributing 21.0 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production. The second largest agricultural commodity was cattle, which contributed 8.0 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry Total Land Area: 389,574 acres production. Farmland: 63,012 acres The third largest was dairy cattle and milk, Timberland: 260,868 acres which contributed 1.7 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production. Forestry Production Timberland accounted for 67.0 percent of the surface land area of Lee County. Total forestry production contributed 19.9 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.

Overall Contributions to Lee County Lee County’s agricultural, forestry, and related industries generated 10,824 full- and part-time jobs, representing 16.7 percent of the county’s total workforce (64,686 jobs). The total impact of agriculture, forestry, and related industries was $815.8 million, which was 11.2 percent of the county’s total economic activity ($7.3 billion). The indirect business taxes impact was $44.9 million, 19.3 percent of the county’s total indirect business taxes.
