Utahn Mickey Ibarra To Be Recognized for Public Service, Leadership to Latino Community Collection of papers contributed to Marriott Library

March 22, 2012 –The University of Utah will recognize and celebrate the contributions of The Honorable Mickey Ibarra, former Assistant to the President and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for The White House and founder of the Latino Leaders Network, at a series of special events taking place March 26-29 in , Utah. About the Mickey Ibarra Papers A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ibarra has donated photos and documents that chronicle his rich career in public service, public policy and his contributions to the Latino community. The materials include the history of Ibarra’s service in The White House under President Clinton (1997 - 2001), during which time he served as the President’s liaison to the nation’s mayors and governors. After his tenure in The White House, Ibarra established the Ibarra Strategy Group, a government and public affairs firm based in Washington, D.C. that represents a range of clients including Fortune 200 corporations, associations and non-profit organizations. In 2006, Ibarra founded the Latino Leaders Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing leaders together.
