Cass City Elementary students gearing up to “Jump with Jill”

In support of the Milk Means More campaign, the rock and roll nutrition show known as “Jump with Jill” will be on stage and rocking in 35 Michigan schools this winter, all winners in a statewide contest. Cass City Elementary School is among the winners and was scheduled to host a stop on the popular tour this week. The event, made available free to the winning schools, was slated for Tuesday from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. in Cass City. The tour was made possible thanks to the continued generosity of Michigan’s dairy farmers and the United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM). “Not only is milk a high quality protein and nutrient source, it is one of Michigan’s leading agricultural products, generating nearly 40,000 jobs,” said the star of the Midwest Jump with Jill cast, Laura Brown, MS, RD. “It’s so fun to sing about a food that is healthy for our bodies, our communities, and our environment.” “We are dedicated to being a source of information on dairy foods and Michigan dairy farming,” said Sharon Toth, CEO of United Dairy Industry of Michigan. “The Milk Means More brand captures the impact Michigan’s dairy industry has throughout our state, from providing nutritious and wholesome foods, to jobs in our communities. We are so proud to partner with Jump with Jill to take this message to Michigan kids.” The world’s only rock and roll nutrition show, Jump with Jill uses music and dance to celebrate healthy habits by transforming nutrition education into a live concert. Created by a registered dietitian and professional musician, Jump with Jill is both educationally sound and completely rock and roll. Behaviorally- focused and research-proven, the show creates a world where healthy is not just an important thing to do, but the cool thing to do. The Milk Means More is a campaign of the United Dairy Industry of Michigan, which is the umbrella organization for the Dairy Council of Michigan and the American Dairy Association of Michigan.
