Ubly woman dies, five others injured in head-on collision

A 65-year-old Ubly woman died and five others were injured in a two-vehi - cle head-on collision Thursday night on M-53 in Sanilac County’s Greenleaf Township. Troopers reported the driver of the northbound vehicle is a 39-year-old Ubly woman. Both vehicles came to rest near the east side of the roadway. The victim, a rear driver’s side passenger in the northbound vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports, which state the other three occupants in the sedan were transported to Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe for treat - ment of their injuries. Both occupants of the Jeep SUV were taken to Hills and Dales General Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries. Troopers have not released any names. All of the occupants were wear seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor.
