3 The University

The Corvinus University of Budapest is Hungary’s leading university in business and economics and is amongst the most highly recognized high- er educational institutions in Central and Eastern Europe .

The university has a total of 10,000 students studying at its 3 Faculties, and a faculty of over 360 full-time and 100 part-time professors . Corvinus has widespread international relations and exchange programs with uni- versities from the US to and from Sweden to .

Corvinus Business School is located just a few minutes’ walk from the central downtown Budapest . With over 200 professors and over 7300 students – CBS is the biggest of the university’s 3 Faculties . It is acknowledged to be the most prominent centre for education and research in business, financial management, management and organization, marketing, information management, business ethics, environmental management and management practice in Hun- gary . CBS has 6 Institutes, with each Institute comprised of a number of Departments

o 0 f c 3 o 0 r p to or p at b e partners us ine s ss universitie 6 Program Description The CEMS MIM program is available for students studying at any master program at the Corvinus Business School of Corvinus University and will result in a second degree from the CEMS Alliance (an alliance of 30 top business universities and 70 corporate partners: www .cems .org) . The MIM degree promotes internationalism . The program includes a term abroad at a partner university and an internship abroad in order to develop experienced management professionals, who are able to make confident, effective decisions in diverse contexts and in an ethical manner . The program’s business-embedded structure prepares students to apply advanced management and leadership competencies through systemat- ic experience of and engagement with the corporate world . During their studies students have the opportunity to work with corporate and social partners, through exclusive skill seminars, business projects, networking events and an internship term . The CEMS MIM program fosters reflective critical thinking, and students become critical, creative, and influential thinkers with confident and reflective problem-solving skills . CEMS MIM graduates can apply their multilingual, multicultural skills in the dynamic international business world .

7 International Study Programs Center

The International Study Programs Center (ISP Center) was founded in 1990 (at the time: International Studies Center) to coordinate and imple- ment business and economics programs in English . Since 2006, the ISP Center staff has been responsible for coordinating the English language bachelor and master programs of Corvinus Business School . It is responsible for all academic and non-academic tasks in connection with the regular degree students, the visiting international / Erasmus students, and the partial training and free-mover students studying in the CBS’s English programs and courses . The ISP provides a unique infrastructure for the CBS’s English programs (CEMS MIM – Community of European Management Schools Master’s in International Management, BA in Business and Management, BA in International Business, Erasmus Mundus Master programs) and course portfolio . The joint management of the programs and related elective courses secures a synergy amongst the various programs . The work of the ISP Center is achieved in keeping with the ISO 9001:2009 (previously: ISO 9001:2000) quality management system . In 2014, the BA in Business and Management program coordinated by the Center was reawarded the internationally acknowledged EPAS (EFMD) accreditation .

My experience at ISP was exceptional. Being located in the heart of Budapest and having such a diverse student and faculty composition creates an amazing atmosphere. As a student transferring from another university, I was pleased with the amount of flexibility offered and had the chance to flavour the core program with many interesting electives. The professors were very engaging while the ISP office staff were always ready to help. Studying at ISP not only contributed to my outstanding academic record, but also developed my character. The program: The teaching methodology focuses on a combination of lectures (required theoretical knowledge) and seminars (theory in practice) . Seminars include interactive discussions, small group work, student projects and presentations, case studies and other business problem solving scenarios . In addition to business, economics and social science elective courses, students are also offered the possibility to study 10 different foreign lan- guages . Upon successful completion of the BA in Business and Management, students will be prepared to enter the job market, or to continue towards a master’s degree and possibly PhD studies .

The program: This program has been designed to enable participants to understand how marketing creates value for a firm, to be able to draft marketing plans, and to master the functional processes of marketing . Participants receive comprehensive marketing knowledge as well as the opportunity to spe- cialize in different areas . Based on the realization that functional divisions are becoming blurred, and that a multidisciplinary approach increases value, the Corvinus MSc in Marketing program offers the opportunity to benefit from the full range of joint core subjects shared with other master programs including managerial courses in quantitative methods, business economics, leadership, managerial accounting, corporate finance, busi- ness law and marketing management . 16 Executive MBA (part-time) This program is intended for individuals with a minimum of three (3) years of work experience (but five years are recommended) and either working in a management/leadership position or expected to be promoted to a higher level executive role in the near future . The program is also suitable for those who are expecting to enhance their career abroad . The program is designed for candidates who cannot afford to be away from their workplace for longer periods and can only attend classes in modular formats, preferably during the weekends . The Executive MBA Program is EPAS accredited .

Full-time MBA The Full-Time MBA program is designed specifically for International and Hungarian students looking for a truly global education experience . The Full-Time MBA program is a two year program for applicants with an average of 2-3 years work experience (depending on the first diploma) .
