I wish you all an inspiring, productive, and pleasant five days. The Joint Sessions of Workshops continue to be a hallmark event of the ECPR. The formula of bringing together small groups of scholars, senior and junior, working on a particular theme, to discuss each other’s papers for five days, while offering plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle with the participants in parallel Workshops, has proven most successful. At the University of Nottingham’s modern Jubilee Campus, 22 Workshops will convene and, as always, the competition to have a Workshop proposal accepted, and then to have a Paper proposal in one of these Workshops accepted, has been fierce. Today’s political controversies are reflected in many of this year’s Workshop themes: ‘how political elites select and process information’, ‘public opinion, foreign policy, and the use of force’, ‘the influence of radical right populist Many people have contributed Bértoa and Kyriaki Nanou, and also to parties’, etc. Add to that exciting to making the Nottingham Joint Liz Lesquereux for all her hard work. plenary events, such as ’s Sessions possible.
