Also, Darmstadt won the 65 and over age division for the most gross and net points throughout the series. In the 55-64 age division, Joseph Cristillo prevailed as the winner in both the gross and net standings. The 40-54 age division included a winner for the most gross and a winner for the most net points. Rick Barger claimed the top spot in the gross standings and James Tierney won in the net standings. The Florida State Club Team Champion- ship fi nished just like it did 62 years ago. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club prevailed as the winner of the 2003 Florida State Club Team Championship just as another Ponte Vedra team did in the inaugural event in 1941. The Ponte Vedra team went on to defend its title in 1942 but the event was not contested from 1943-1945 due to the war. Held at the renowned King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses at the World Golf Village on May 3-4, the Ponte Vedra team of Steve Horner, Scot Regner, Bill Calfee and Ken Moody scored a two-day total of 427. Going into the second day in sec- ond place with a 215 in the fi rst round, Ponte Vedra fi nished the second round with a total of 212, four under par. Steve Horner shot a three under par 69 to lead the Ponte Vedra team.
