Horowitz of Cohen Brothers leases 9,000 s/f to Dean & DeLuca at 3 March 16, 2016 - City

New York, NY Dean & DeLuca, which opened its first upscale specialty food store in the trendy Soho District of in 1977, has signed a long-term lease at Charles Cohen’s 41-story tower at 3 Park Ave. for its first corporate office in the city.

The Wichita, Kansas-based company, which now operates specialty food stores and cafes throughout the world, has leased 9,000 s/f on the building’s 37th floor. It expects to move into its new offices in the fourth quarter of this year.

Kelly Supple of the Charles Rutenberg Brokerage Agency represented Dean & DeLuca in the 10 ½ -year leasing transaction while Marc Horowitz, senior vice president and national director of office leasing at Cohen Brothers Realty Corp., represented the building owner. Asking rent for the space was $85 per s/f.

In addition to its locations, Dean & DeLuca today operates stores in Washington D.C; Charlotte, North Carolina, Leawood, Kansas and Napa Valley, California, as well as in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea and The Middle East.

Situated between East 33rd and East 34th Sts., the striking, class A skyscraper features a new lobby and elevator cabs designed by renowned architecture firm, FXFowle. The property, convenient to Grand Central Station and several major subway lines, is also home to an on-site New York Sports Club.
