Description Mill of Ross is a wonderful cottage in a spectacular setting within the Trossachs National Park on the east side of Loch Lomond. The property is nestled in amongst mature trees with bordering rivers and magnificent views across the gardens and over the loch beyond. The property was constructed traditionally of stone under a pitched roof. Internally the property is constructed over two floors with the upper level comprising: two bedrooms and with the lower level consisting of an open plan kitchen/dining area with a further living room complete with wood burning stove. A downstairs bedroom and bathroom is accessed off a small hallway. Whilst the accommodation is incredibly comfortable and enjoyable through both the summer and winter months, it is unquestionably the position of the property that makes it such a unique prospect. Directly to the rear of the cottage is a beautiful mature garden complete with specimen shrubs and trees and with three linked ponds. Such is the nature of the setting within the National Park, the area is also an SSI. The surrounding grounds and forests are full of a variety of wildlife and birdlife as well as wild flowers and a sea of bluebells and snow drops at various points throughout the year. An east facing patio catches the morning sun and to the north of the house adjacent to the log store is a large patio which sits alongside Ross burn providing a wonderfully tranquil alfresco dining position. At the front of the house is a patio and a lawn which leads down to a beautifully secluded bay on the loch with access for canoeing, swimming and other water sports. The West Highland Way is another of the notable benefits to this position which passes the foot of the of the garden and winds its way along the side of Loch Lomond. Within the bay lies the remains of an ancient crannog “Millcairn Crannog” and there is also evidence of other early communities who lived here many centuries ago.
