Site Description The , the main shipping route of the Russian Arctic, plays a key role in development of the Russian Arctic zone and of its unique natural resources. For establishing this route, development and upgrading of associated port facilities as well as the transport infrastructure are of primary importance.

The port of Sabetta is an Arctic port near Sabetta settlement at the western coast of the Gulf of in Yamal district of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Tyumen Region. The port is intended for transportation of and for year-round navigation along the Northern Sea Route.

Sabetta, the youngest among Russian sea ports, has become the absolute leader in the country in terms of cargo turnover growth. Raw hydrocarbons are produced at South Tambey gas condensate field of for further processing and transportation. Liquefied natural gas is Sabetta port construction on Jamal Peninsula exported to Western Europe, Americas, and Asia-Pacific countries.

The port is being built as part of Yamal LNG project based on public–private partnership and is the largest infrastructure project in the world today being implemented in Arctic.

Reno mattresses® being tested in Arkhangelsk 1. Assembly Tests of Reno Mattresses® In May 2017, Reno mattresses® were tested at the site of FERTOING LLC: they were assembled, fit with embeds for fixing to a lift spreader and hoisted and handled as complete structures. The tests helped to define the proper types of embeds and of the lift spreader and to developed recommendations on stacking, separation and transportation of gabion structures.

Actual installation, filling of mattresses with rock material and further transportation from Arkhangelsk to Yamal were performed by MRTS SEA PORTS LLC, Arkhangelsk River Port CJSC, and FERTOING LLC.

2. Development of Process Flow Chart Due to the high level of criticality of Sabetta sea port facilities ® and high safety requirements for diving and loading Preparation of Reno mattresses for transportation operations, experts of all the companies involved in the project jointly developed a special process flow chart.

This process flow chart addressed the following factors:  structure weight: each mattress was assembled on a weighing system.  number of lifts of a structure on a lift spreader to ensure firm and correct installation of embeds.

The final and the most critical part of the process was transportation of Reno mattresses® to the installation site and their laying to the seabed near process jetties.
