Kissinger Associates was founded more than 30 years ago for one purpose: to give senior corporate and investment executives a "decision advantage" by providing them with information, insights and analyses of the politics, economics and policies of major countries around the world. The firm’s work channels Dr. Kissinger’s long-time approach to international problems: deep understanding of historical context married to constantly renewed knowledge of personalities, networks and policy issues, and flavored by lessons learned from extensive experience.

Global businesses today are being whipsawed by an unusual confluence of forces. There is a visible weakening of long- established patterns of behavior and relationships among nations and, at the same time, we are seeing the emergence of economic nationalism and populism as drivers of public policy in many countries. The "rules of the game" that had evolved during the last several decades of deepening globalization are in flux. The result is a growing need to integrate corporate and investment decision making with real-time information and analysis of the rapidly changing political, social and economic actors, institutions and landscape.

The principals at Kissinger Associates have extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, and understand how to generate analysis that translates into action. We maintain—and constantly renew—our extensive array of contacts and relationships with top officials, politicians, business leaders, analysts, and other sources throughout the world.

We work with our clients' senior executives to develop and explore national, regional and global scenarios that could potentially impact their business activities and we support client operations with detailed roadmaps and targeted advice designed to achieve their operating goals.

Our assignments tend to fall into six categories:

• Geopolitical risk analysis tailored to client needs; • Bespoke sovereign risk and opportunity assessments, including due diligence for boards of directors; • International corporate strategic planning support; • Emerging transnational threat analysis, including cyber; • International problem solving; • Market entry or exit and cross border negotiation strategies.

We are most effective for our clients when we have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of their strategic goals and operational challenges. We deliver our product to C-suite executives in direct conversation, which we find to be most responsive way to meet to the client's needs. This approach also protects the confidentiality of the client's questions and proprietary information, as well as our sources thereby making them more inclined to speak openly with us.

Our contracts take two forms: annual retainers for consulting services focused on the issues that affect client operations and opportunities, and structures that include success fees tied to helping clients achieve specific outcomes, e.g., resolving a significant problem, facilitating entry or exit in a complicated political environment, etc. In either case, our client relationships are confidential. Finally, we provide no services that would require registration in the United States as a lobbyist or foreign agent.
