Greenland’s fight against Covid-19: This year’s additional value stamp By Pertti Frandsen

later, there had been 13 confirmed cases of in- fection in a country with a population of just over 56,000 people. All 13 people who became infect- ed with Covid-19 in Greenland have long since been declared healthy.

As of 12th August 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has yet to cost a human life in Greenland. In other words, the Greenlandic experience of the pandemic so far appears to have been very mild. However, as cases of corona virus flared up elsewhere in the world, Greenland decided to continue to operate a containment strategy that involves the isolation, quarantine and detection and tracking of people in- fected with Covid-19. The Greenlandic community therefore continues to be affected by Covid-19, and Greenlandic authorities have chosen to maintain a higher state of readiness.

Everyone in Greenland is still encouraged to follow the advice of medical professionals from Green- land’s national board of health, which is Green- land’s supreme body within the health profession.
