2009-10 Men’s & Women’s Crew

The 2009-10 season bodes well for the Tigers as they re- turn many committed student-athletes who are hungry for success . Last year, both teams experienced an influx of new athletes, and the enthusiasm for rowing and competition of this year’s team members is a driving force, as the teams look for increased boat speed . The women’s roster boasts a strong group of return- ing athletes who are prepared to commit to the hard work necessary for success . Last year’s novice eight re- turns in full, bringing to the varsity squad an exceptional year of racing experience . Coupled with the returning rowers from the varsity four that finished second at the New York State Championship, the energetic and athletic group looks to continue their winning ways, and increase the depth of the women’s team with their sights on an NCAA bid . On the men’s side, Coach Bodenstedt returns a large group of varsity rowers . He anticipates the strength of last year’s novice squad will fit in well with the returning varsity, building a foundation for technical speed . Now in its 16th season of varsity competition, the overall mission of the crew program remains the same: to provide a highly competitive rowing and racing expe- rience for its athletes, while building winners for life . The men’s varsity 8 roaring toward a strong finish at the 2008 Head of the Charles Regatta.
